In force in London right nowTuesday, 13 October 2026 at 10:04 · Europe/London

The ULEZ runs continuously; whether you actually pay depends on your vehicle's emission standard, which this does not check.

Operating times only, read from the source below. It does not check your vehicle.

What applies

A £12.50 daily charge applies for driving in the Ultra Low Emission Zone, which covers all London boroughs (it does not include the M25) and operates 24 hours a day, every day of the year except Christmas Day.

We have not yet looked through Transport for London's own channels for this boundary. The community-mapped outlines we checked were the wrong scheme, so we are not using those.

Penalty if you do not comply

The penalty charge amount was not stated on the page read on 2026-08-31. Not estimated.

How to comply
  • If your vehicle does not meet the ULEZ emissions standards and is not exempt, you pay a £12.50 daily charge to drive within the zone.
  • A non-UK registered vehicle is treated the same way: it must meet the ULEZ emissions standards or pay the daily charge.
  • Register the vehicle with Transport for London even if it DOES meet the standards — TfL states that vehicles need to be registered with them regardless, and its registration page is for telling them a UK or non-UK vehicle meets the ULEZ standards.
  • TfL publishes a vehicle checker for whether a charge is due, and a postcode checker for whether a journey is inside the zone.
