Driving in Skala Kefalonias: Limited traffic zone

Skala Kefalonias, Greece · Limited traffic zone

74795, ΦΕΚ Β' 2545/24.05.2022)

In force in Skala Kefalonias right nowTuesday, 13 October 2026 at 12:05 · Europe/Athens

  • In force Every vehicle on the pedestrianised streets of Skala: οδός Κωνσταντίνου Τραυλού over its whole length, and the dead-end sections of οδός Βασιλέως Παύλου and οδός Βασιλέως Κωνσταντίνου. 🚫 The rest of the settlement's 2022 scheme is not here: the one-way orders on 25ης Μαρτίου, 28ης Οκτωβρίου, Ζακύνθου, Αθ. Διάκου, Υψηλάντου, Ι. Θελόγου and Ανδρούτσου, the parking places, and the taxi rank on οδός Ποσειδώνος are not access restrictions and are not encoded (D-283). 🔑 The exemptions cannot be expressed as a timetable because they turn on what the vehicle is doing rather than on the hour. Shop-supply vehicles may drive and park on the closed streets between 06:00 and 12:00; vehicles holding a permit from the municipality may enter; emergency needs are provided for; and the Highway Code's own definition of a πεζόδρομος admits vehicles going in and out of the parking space of a property on the street. All four are in `how_to_comply` in their publisher's words.

🚨 THE SEASON AND THE 24-HOUR BASIS COME FROM THE MUNICIPALITY, NOT FROM THE GAZETTE, and the page says so wherever it prints either. ΦΕΚ Β' 2545/2022 orders the pedestrianisation and prints no clock and no calendar; it governs «σύμφωνα με την (25) σχετική εγκεκριμένη κυκλοφοριακή μελέτη», which is not published with it. The period is published by Δήμος Αργοστολίου and attributed by it to «τον ισχύοντα κανονισμό». 🚫 It must not be re-described as a gazetted season.

🚨 THE 06:00–12:00 SLOT IS NOT A WINDOW IN THIS CLOSURE and must never be encoded as one. The municipality's sentence is exclusive: «η κυκλοφορία και η στάθμευση στον πεζόδρομο θα επιτρέπεται ΜΟΝΟ για οχήματα τροφοδοσίας καταστημάτων, τις ώρες από 6 π.μ. έως 12 το μεσημέρι». It admits a class of vehicle for six hours; it does not open the street. Adding it to `windows` would tell every driver the street is theirs all morning, which no source says.

⚠️ THE WINTER MONTHS ARE OUT OF FORCE ON A PUBLISHED PERIOD, WHICH IS NOT THE SAME AS A PUBLISHED WINTER. The municipality states the period and re-opens the pedestrian street each spring; the gazette's approval itself carries no season, and the regulation that sets the period has not been read. If that regulation provides something for 1 November to 30 April, this page does not know it — so out of season, treat the signs on the street as the authority and expect the ordinary Highway Code rules for a πεζόδρομος to be capable of applying.

The exceptions cannot be seen by a timetable. Supply vehicles in the morning slot, permit holders, emergency needs and vehicles going in and out of a property's own parking space are all admitted while the rule is in force, so for them this schedule over-warns in every hour of the season.

🚫 Three streets are not the whole of Skala. This record covers οδός Κωνσταντίνου Τραυλού and the dead-end sections of Βασιλέως Παύλου and Βασιλέως Κωνσταντίνου; the same act one-ways much of the rest of the village and moves its parking. A street's absence from this record is not permission to drive it however you like.

Public holidays are not encoded because no source mentions them. Neither the act nor either announcement exempts a day or a date, and 15 August — the busiest day of the Greek summer — falls inside the season.

🚨 This timetable cannot tell you whether the rule has commenced in law. The act makes its measures effective «από την τοποθέτηση των οικείων πινακίδων σήμανσης ή των διαγραμμίσεων στο οδόστρωμα» and gives no date for that, which is why `effective_from` is null. The municipality's 2025 announcement says the signing exists — «Σύμφωνα με τις ισχύουσες σημάνσεις» — but never says when it went up.

The schedule is derived from `hours` and carries no fact that is not in the sources named there.

Operating times only, read from the source below. It does not check your vehicle.

What applies

Skala is a settlement on Kefalonia, in the Δημοτική Ενότητα Ελειού-Πρόννων of Δήμος Αργοστολίου, and the street through the middle of it — the one the municipality's own notices describe in terms of «τα καταστήματα, την εστίαση και τις τοπικές επιχειρήσεις» and «στον κεντρικό ιστό της Σκάλας» — is closed to traffic for the whole tourist season. 🔑 The rule is published in two halves by two publishers, and this page keeps them apart on purpose.

THE APPROVAL is in the gazette: ΦΕΚ Β' 2545/24.05.2022, in which the Αποκεντρωμένη Διοίκηση Πελοποννήσου, Δυτικής Ελλάδας και Ιονίου approves council decision 74/2022 of Δήμος Αργοστολίου for the settlement of Skala and orders, as the first of seven measures, «i. Πεζοδρόμηση της οδού Κωνσταντίνου Τραυλού» — the pedestrianisation of οδός Κωνσταντίνου Τραυλού — and, as the fifth, «v.

Πεζοδρόμηση των αδιέξοδων τμημάτων των οδών Βασιλέως Παύλου και Βασιλέως Κωνσταντίνου», the pedestrianisation of the dead-end sections of Βασιλέως Παύλου and Βασιλέως Κωνσταντίνου.

THE OPERATING TERMS are not in the gazette: the act governs «σύμφωνα με την (25) σχετική εγκεκριμένη κυκλοφοριακή μελέτη και το διάγραμμα που τη συνοδεύει», a traffic study that is not published with it, and it records in its own recitals that a pedestrian-street operating regulation was approved — «Εγκρίθηκε ο Κανονισμός λειτουργίας Πεζοδρόμου σύμφωνα με την (26) σχετική» — naming among its documents council decision 54/2022, which approved «την υπ’ αρ.

18/22 απόφασης Επιτροπής Ποιότητας Ζωής που αφορά τον Κανονισμό λειτουργίας Πεζοδρόμου Σκάλας Αργοστολίου». 🔑 The municipality publishes what that regulation provides, on its own site, at the start of each season.

Its announcement of 29 April 2026 states the period: «Σύμφωνα με τον ισχύοντα κανονισμό, η περίοδος εφαρμογής της πεζοδρόμησης εκτείνεται από 1η Μαΐου έως 31 Οκτωβρίου, σε 24ωρη βάση» — from 1 May to 31 October, on a 24-hour basis — and its announcement of 30 April 2025 states what may move on the street while it is closed: «η κυκλοφορία και η στάθμευση στον πεζόδρομο θα επιτρέπεται μόνο για οχήματα τροφοδοσίας καταστημάτων, τις ώρες από 6 π.μ. έως 12 το μεσημέρι». 🚨 So for six months of the year this is not a night-time or evening closure of the kind most of this corpus's Greek records describe: it is a whole-day closure of the shopping street, with a morning delivery window that admits supply vehicles only. ⚠️ Two things no source this project holds will say.

The regulation itself is unread — but it is no longer unidentified, and the difference matters. On 2026-09-25 the national transparency register's open-data search, which that register's own robots.txt permits, returned both halves of it by name: the Επιτροπή Ποιότητας Ζωής act «Κανονισμός Λειτουργίας Πεζοδρόμου για τον οικισμό Σκάλας Δ.Ε.

Ελειού Πρόννων», ΑΔΑ 9ΖΟ046ΜΓΤΤ-572 of 23 March 2022, classified by the publisher itself as a ΚΑΝΟΝΙΣΤΙΚΗ ΠΡΑΞΗ, and the council decision that approved it, ΑΔΑ 6ΤΕΔ46ΜΓΤΤ-1ΙΒ of 8 April 2022, whose subject is «54/22 ΑΠΟΦΑΣΗ ΔΣ «Έγκριση της αριθ 18/22 απόφασης Επιτροπής Ποιότητας Ζωής που αφορά τον Κανονισμό λειτουργίας Πεζόδρομου Σκάλας.»» — the same 54/2022 and the same 18/22 the gazette's recitals name. 🚫 What the register does not hand over is the text: the document paths themselves are closed in the same robots.txt, so the exact list of permit holders is still taken no further than the municipality's own phrase «η πρόσβαση οχημάτων που διαθέτουν σχετική άδεια».

And the act commences on the placing of the signing, «ισχύουν από την τοποθέτηση των οικείων πινακίδων σήμανσης ή των διαγραμμίσεων στο οδόστρωμα», with no date given anywhere for that placing, which is why `effective_from` is null even though the municipality confirms in 2025 that the signing is up.

Εθνικό Τυπογραφείο (National Printing House) — Εφημερίδα της Κυβερνήσεως, ΦΕΚ Β' 2545/24.05.2022, Αριθμ. 74795 of the Αποκεντρωμένη Διοίκηση Πελοποννήσου, Δυτικής Ελλάδας και Ιονίου, signed at Patras on 12 May 2022, read together with the Δήμος Αργοστολίου announcements of 30 April 2025 and 29 April 2026 for the season and the delivery window the gazette leaves to the traffic study and to the pedestrian-street regulation

Daily charge

Nothing is charged and there is nothing to buy in advance.

The act is a traffic-regulation approval under article 52 of the Highway Code; it creates no permit sold to visitors, no day ticket and no tariff, and it puts the cost of the signing on the municipality — «Το κόστος της προμήθειας και της τοποθέτησης της κατάλληλης κατακόρυφης και οριζόντιας σήμανσης θα βαρύνει τον Προϋπολογισμό του Δήμου ή τον ανάδοχο κατά τις συμβατικές του υποχρεώσεις». ⚠️ One permit exists and it is not priced anywhere this project can read.

The municipality's 2026 announcement says the regulation provides for «την πρόσβαση οχημάτων που διαθέτουν σχετική άδεια» — access for vehicles holding a relevant permit — and says nothing about who may hold one, what it costs or how it is applied for. ⚠️ The document that would answer that is the Κανονισμός Λειτουργίας Πεζοδρόμου Σκάλας Αργοστολίου, approved by council decision 54/2022 on the Επιτροπή Ποιότητας Ζωής's decision 18/2022.

It is not in the gazette; a search of argostoli.gov.gr on 2026-09-24 for «Κανονισμός Λειτουργίας Πεζόδρομου» returned nothing; and diavgeia.gov.gr, the national transparency register where such a decision sits, disallows /doc/*, /decision/view and /luminapi/api/decisions/* in its own robots.txt — measured for this corpus in cycle 65 and unchanged. ✅ What changed on 2026-09-25 is the identification, not the reading.

The same register's /opendata/ paths carry no such prohibition, and a search of them scoped to Δήμος Αργοστολίου returned the regulation itself — ΑΔΑ 9ΖΟ046ΜΓΤΤ-572, protocol 4024, issued 23 March 2022 by the ΕΠΙΤΡΟΠΗ ΠΟΙΟΤΗΤΑΣ ΖΩΗΣ and typed ΚΑΝΟΝΙΣΤΙΚΗ ΠΡΑΞΗ — and the council approval, ΑΔΑ 6ΤΕΔ46ΜΓΤΤ-1ΙΒ, protocol 5956, issued 8 April 2022 by the ΓΡΑΦΕΙΟ ΔΗΜΟΤΙΚΟΥ ΣΥΜΒΟΥΛΙΟΥ. 🔑 The register's own record of that approval carries an empty gazette field, which is the publisher's own statement that the act was never published in the ΦΕΚ — so «not in the gazette» above is now corroborated by the register rather than resting on this project's failure to find it. 🚫 Neither entry publishes a charge, because neither entry publishes any text at all: the register gives the subject, the number, the date, the issuing body and the classification, and stops.

So this is an unread document rather than a document known to contain no charge.

When it operates

Twenty-four hours a day, from 1 May to 31 October. The municipality prints the whole of it in one sentence — «Σύμφωνα με τον ισχύοντα κανονισμό, η περίοδος εφαρμογής της πεζοδρόμησης εκτείνεται από 1η Μαΐου έως 31 Οκτωβρίου, σε 24ωρη βάση» — and «σε 24ωρη βάση» is doing the work: inside the season there is no evening start and no morning end, the street is a pedestrian street around the clock.

No weekday is named, so no weekday is excluded. 🚨 NEITHER HALF OF THIS IS IN THE GAZETTE.

ΦΕΚ Β' 2545/2022 orders «Πεζοδρόμηση της οδού Κωνσταντίνου Τραυλού» with no clock and no calendar at all, and governs «σύμφωνα με την (25) σχετική εγκεκριμένη κυκλοφοριακή μελέτη», which is not published with it; the season and the 24-hour basis are published by Δήμος Αργοστολίου, which is the municipality whose council decision the gazette approved, and which attributes them to «τον ισχύοντα κανονισμό» — the pedestrian-street operating regulation the act's own recitals record as approved. 🔑 One hour range appears beside it and it is NOT a window in which the street is open to you: «η κυκλοφορία και η στάθμευση στον πεζόδρομο θα επιτρέπεται μόνο για οχήματα τροφοδοσίας καταστημάτων, τις ώρες από 6 π.μ. έως 12 το μεσημέρι» — between 06:00 and 12:00 driving and parking on the pedestrian street are allowed ONLY for vehicles supplying the shops.

The 2026 announcement repeats the same slot in the same terms, «την τροφοδοσία καταστημάτων (τις ώρες από 6 π.μ., έως 12 το μεσημέρι)». 🚫 A driver who is not delivering to a shop gains nothing from it, and it must not be read as six hours of open street. ⚠️ Outside the season the municipality's own word is «επαναλειτουργία», a re-opening of the pedestrian street each spring «όπως κάθε χρόνο», which says as plainly as the municipality ever does that between 1 November and 30 April the street is not operating as a pedestrian street.

That is a narrowing of a gazetted pedestrianisation which carries no season of its own, and the Highway Code expressly allows an operating regulation to make it: article 2 §56 admits the uses it lists «εκτός αν άλλως ορίζεται από τον κανονισμό λειτουργίας τους».

The winter months are therefore encoded as out of force on the municipality's published period rather than on an assumption — but the regulation that sets that period has not been read, and if it provides anything for the winter this page does not know it. ⚠️ It has now been identified — ΑΔΑ 9ΖΟ046ΜΓΤΤ-572 of 23 March 2022, «Κανονισμός Λειτουργίας Πεζοδρόμου για τον οικισμό Σκάλας Δ.Ε.

Ελειού Πρόννων», approved by council decision 54/2022 — and that changes nothing about the season on this page: the register publishes the act's identity, not its clauses, so the 1 May to 31 October period still rests on the municipality's announcement and on nothing else.

Δήμος Αργοστολίου, official municipal website, announcement «Επαναλειτουργία Πεζόδρομου Σκάλας για τη θερινή περίοδο», dated Αργοστόλι, 29/4/2026, from the Γραφείο Αντιδημάρχου and signed by Αντιδήμαρχος Νικόλαος Κουρκουμέλης — the municipality whose council decision 74/2022 the gazette approves, publishing the period and the basis that the gazette leaves to the traffic study and to the operating regulation

Area covered

One street through the middle of a seaside village, plus two dead ends off it. The act names them and names nothing else: «i. Πεζοδρόμηση της οδού Κωνσταντίνου Τραυλού» and «v.

Πεζοδρόμηση των αδιέξοδων τμημάτων των οδών Βασιλέως Παύλου και Βασιλέως Κωνσταντίνου». 🔑 The act also says, in the same breath, how you are meant to reach the edge of it: measure iv is the «Διαμόρφωση των διπλής κατεύθυνσης οδών Κεφαλληνίας και Διαδ.

Παύλου στη συμβολή τους με τον πεζόδρομο, ώστε να εξυπηρετείται η πρόσβαση και η στάθμευση των μόνιμων κατοίκων» — οδός Κεφαλληνίας and οδός Διαδόχου Παύλου are arranged two-way where they meet the pedestrian street, so that residents can reach it and park.

Those two are NOT closed; they are the way in. 🚫 The gazette gives no end points for οδός Κωνσταντίνου Τραυλού, which it pedestrianises entire, and no length for the two dead-end sections beyond the word «αδιέξοδων», dead-end. 🚫 It publishes no coordinate of any kind — no ΕΓΣΑ 87 table, no sign position, no bounding point — and governs by «το διάγραμμα που τη συνοδεύει», the drawing accompanying the approved traffic study, which is not published with the issue. ⚠️ The municipality's two announcements print no map and no street name either: they speak of «ο πεζόδρομος της Σκάλας», the pedestrian street of Skala, in the singular and without naming it.

This record joins the two by publisher and says so: the streets are the gazette's, the season and the delivery slot are the municipality's, and nothing on this page asserts that the municipality named οδός Κωνσταντίνου Τραυλού, because it did not.

Εθνικό Τυπογραφείο — Εφημερίδα της Κυβερνήσεως, ΦΕΚ Β' 2545/24.05.2022, Αριθμ. 74795: the operative list of seven measures for the settlement of Skala, of which i and v are the pedestrianisations and iv is the two-way arrangement that serves access to them

Why there is no map here
Nobody publishes a boundary for this one, and both publishers were checked. The gazette governs by «το διάγραμμα που τη συνοδεύει», the drawing accompanying the approved traffic study of 05/2022, and that study and its drawing are not published with the issue; ΦΕΚ Β' 2545/24.05.2022 itself contains no coordinate of any kind — no ΕΓΣΑ 87 table, no sign position, no bounding point — unlike the Skala Kallonis act on Lesbos, which prints eleven. The municipality's two announcements carry no map and no plan: measured on 2026-09-24, they are 9 157 and 7 978 characters of text with no image of the closure and no linked drawing, and they do not even name the streets. A search of argostoli.gov.gr on the same day for «Κανονισμός Λειτουργίας Πεζόδρομου» returned nothing, and the council decision that approved it sits on diavgeia.gov.gr, which disallows /doc/*, /decision/view and /luminapi/api/decisions/* in its own robots.txt. ⚠️ That decision was located in the register's open-data index on 2026-09-25 (ΑΔΑ 6ΤΕΔ46ΜΓΤΤ-1ΙΒ, and the regulation itself at ΑΔΑ 9ΖΟ046ΜΓΤΤ-572), and it moves this field not at all: the index publishes a subject line, and a subject line contains no geometry. 🚫 The streets are named and could be traced in OpenStreetMap, but a line drawn that way would be this project's line while looking exactly as authoritative as the municipality's, which D-096 forbids. This would heal if the municipality published the traffic study's drawing, or the operating regulation, or the closure in an open-data or GIS channel — none of which existed on argostoli.gov.gr on 2026-09-24.
Petrol standard

This scheme sets no emission threshold, and the absence is structural rather than unrecorded. A pedestrianisation asks whether a vehicle may be on the street at all, not what comes out of its exhaust.

No Euro class, no fuel type and no registration year appears anywhere in the act or in either municipal announcement; the only vehicle properties that matter here are whether the vehicle is supplying a shop between 06:00 and 12:00, whether it holds a municipal permit, whether it is answering an emergency, and whether it is going in or out of the parking space of a property on the street.

Diesel standard

The same as for petrol and for the same structural reason: nothing in the act or the announcements distinguishes one engine from another, and every exemption published turns on what the vehicle is doing rather than on what it burns.

Penalty if you do not comply
€350.00 Neither the act nor either municipal announcement prints a figure; every number here is read from ν. 5209/2025, the Greek Highway Code, which was extracted independently for this record on 2026-09-24 — 846 956 characters through scripts/read-source.mjs — and each provision located in that text with scripts/grep-normalised.py. 🔑 The chain closes on the noun. The Code prohibits driving «σε πλατείες, πεζόδρομους, πεζοδρόμια» and the question on every Greek page here is whether the local measure's own word maps onto the Code's noun «πεζόδρομος». It does, twice over: the gazette's operative verb is «Πεζοδρόμηση» of named streets, and the recitals record the approval of a «Κανονισμός λειτουργίας Πεζοδρόμου Σκάλας Αργοστολίου» — an operating regulation FOR A PEDESTRIAN STREET — while the municipality calls the result «ο πεζόδρομος της Σκάλας» in both of its announcements. 🔑 Article 20 §4 forbids a driver to circulate there «εκτός από περιπτώσεις απολύτου ανάγκης ή όταν ειδικές ρυθμίσεις το επιτρέπουν»; article 20 §8 β) classifies a breach of §4 «στην κατηγορία Ε3-Β και στην κατηγορία Σ»; article 108 §5 γ) γα) prices a category Ε3-Α breach at «διοικητικό πρόστιμο τριακοσίων πενήντα (350) ευρώ», §5 γ) γβ) adds to it, for Ε3-Β, «το διοικητικό μέτρο αφαίρεσης της άδειας οδήγησης και των στοιχείων κυκλοφορίας του οχήματος για τριάντα (30) ημέρες», and §5 δ) adds a further «σαράντα (40) ημέρες» withdrawal of the driving licence for the category Σ classification. That is the €350 published here, and the licence measures that come with it. 🚨 NO SIGN CODE IS GAZETTED HERE. Unlike the Papagou and Sifnos acts, which order their regulatory plates by code in terms, this act orders only that «Η επί τόπου τοποθέτηση των κατάλληλων πινακίδων σήμανσης καθώς και η οριζόντια διαγράμμιση θα εκτελεστεί με μέριμνα του αρμόδιου τμήματος του Δήμου Αργοστολίου», and the municipality describes what stands there only as «οι ισχύουσες σημάνσεις». This record therefore names no plate and prices no sign offence: a driver who is stopped may be written up under a plate this project cannot identify, and the €350 above is the route through the pedestrian-street prohibition rather than the only possible charge. ⚠️ For a visitor in a hire car the measure against the vehicle's papers is a matter between the renter and the rental company, which the Code does not address. ⚠️ One document could narrow all of this and could not be read: the Κανονισμός Λειτουργίας Πεζοδρόμου approved by council decision 54/2022, which article 2 §56 of the Code expressly allows to vary the access a pedestrian street otherwise carries — «εκτός αν άλλως ορίζεται από τον κανονισμό λειτουργίας τους». It is not in the gazette, it is not on the municipality's website, and the document paths of diavgeia.gov.gr are closed to this project by that register's own robots.txt. ⚠️ Identified on 2026-09-25 through the register's open-data search, which is not closed: ΑΔΑ 9ΖΟ046ΜΓΤΤ-572 of 23 March 2022, issued by the ΕΠΙΤΡΟΠΗ ΠΟΙΟΤΗΤΑΣ ΖΩΗΣ of Δήμος Αργοστολίου and typed by the publisher as a ΚΑΝΟΝΙΣΤΙΚΗ ΠΡΑΞΗ, approved by council decision 54/2022 at ΑΔΑ 6ΤΕΔ46ΜΓΤΤ-1ΙΒ of 8 April 2022. 🚫 Knowing where it is does not make its clauses readable, so every figure above still comes from the Highway Code and none of it from the regulation.

Article 2 §56 for the definition of a pedestrian street, for the abutting-property entry and exit it allows, for the supply and emergency vehicles it admits and for the operating regulation's power to vary all of it; article 20 §4 and §8 β) for driving on one and for the category it falls in; article 108 §5 γ) and δ) for the tariff and the licence measures

How to comply
  • Between 1 May and 31 October, do not drive into οδός Κωνσταντίνου Τραυλού or into the dead-end sections of οδός Βασιλέως Παύλου and οδός Βασιλέως Κωνσταντίνου at any hour. The municipality's sentence is «η περίοδος εφαρμογής της πεζοδρόμησης εκτείνεται από 1η Μαΐου έως 31 Οκτωβρίου, σε 24ωρη βάση» — the whole season, around the clock, not an evening closure.
  • 🔑 Approach from οδός Κεφαλληνίας or οδός Διαδόχου Παύλου and park before the pedestrian street begins. The act arranges exactly those two as two-way «στη συμβολή τους με τον πεζόδρομο, ώστε να εξυπηρετείται η πρόσβαση και η στάθμευση των μόνιμων κατοίκων» — at their junction with the pedestrian street, so that access and parking are served. The same act also sets out parking places in the village core «με ειδική μέριμνα για την εξασφάλιση θέσεων για μόνιμους κατοίκους, ΑμεΑ, φόρτιση ηλεκτροκίνητων οχημάτων».
  • 🚫 Do not treat 06:00–12:00 as your window. It is not. The municipality's words are «η κυκλοφορία και η στάθμευση στον πεζόδρομο θα επιτρέπεται μόνο για οχήματα τροφοδοσίας καταστημάτων, τις ώρες από 6 π.μ. έως 12 το μεσημέρι» — only for vehicles supplying the shops. If you are delivering to a business on the street, that is your slot and it closes at noon; if you are not, the street is closed to you at every hour of the season.
  • 🔑 If you are staying on the closed stretch, ask your accommodation about the permit before you arrive. The regulation provides for «την πρόσβαση οχημάτων που διαθέτουν σχετική άδεια» — access for vehicles holding the relevant permit — and this project could not read who may hold one, what it costs or how long it takes to obtain. The municipality issues it; ask the property to arrange it rather than turning up and hoping.
  • 🔑 The Highway Code itself lets you reach your own parking space. Article 2 §56 defines a πεζόδρομος as a street used exclusively by pedestrians «και για είσοδο - έξοδο οχημάτων προς και από χώρους στάθμευσης παρόδιων ιδιοκτησιών» — for vehicles entering and leaving the parking spaces of properties on the street — and it admits «οχήματα εφοδιασμού ή έκτακτης ανάγκης», supply and emergency vehicles, on the same footing. Those rights exist «εκτός αν άλλως ορίζεται από τον κανονισμό λειτουργίας τους», unless the street's own operating regulation says otherwise — and that regulation is the document this project could not read.
  • ⚠️ Out of season the municipality re-opens the street, and it says so in the plainest terms it uses: each spring's announcement is an «Επαναλειτουργία Πεζόδρομου Σκάλας για τη θερινή περίοδο» that happens «όπως κάθε χρόνο». Between 1 November and 30 April this page does not warn — but the gazetted pedestrianisation itself carries no season, so read the signs on the ground rather than this sentence if you are there in winter.
  • ⚠️ The cost of getting it wrong is €350 plus licence measures, and it comes from the Highway Code rather than from the act, which prints no figure. See `penalty`. No sign code is gazetted here, so this page does not tell you which plate you will be shown.
  • 🚫 Nothing here says the rest of Skala is unrestricted. The same 2022 act one-ways 25ης Μαρτίου in part, builds a one-way ring through 28ης Οκτωβρίου, Ζακύνθου, Αθ. Διάκου, Υψηλάντου, Ι. Θελόγου and Ανδρούτσου, sets parking places through the village core and puts a taxi rank on οδός Ποσειδώνος. None of those is an access restriction and none is on this page; all of them will be signed on the ground.
