45 schemes in 42 cities. Every figure comes from an official source and is re-checked.
Greece has 45 driving restrictions that we have checked against an official source, in 42 cities. They are 35 limited traffic zones and 10 heavy vehicle bans.
This page lists no country-wide requirement for Greece. Anything owed before you reach a city is not covered here, so check the national road authority before you leave.
The sources for this country were read between 2026-09-21 and 2026-09-29, from the authorities' own pages. Each check is repeated on a schedule, and a rule we can no longer confirm comes down instead of staying up.

Agia is a small hill town in Thessaly, inland from the Aegean beaches of Agiokampos and Velika and about 40 km east of Larisa, and on 27 October 2025 the Αποκεντρωμένη Διοίκηση Θεσσαλίας - Στερεάς Ελλάδας gazetted a decision that closes one block of one of its streets to traffic for good. 🔑 The operative clause is a single sentence and this record is the whole of it: «Την έγκριση των κυκλοφοριακών ρυθμίσεων της υπ’ αρ.
62/2025 απόφασης του Δημοτικού Συμβουλίου του Δήμου Αγιάς … που αφορά στη μόνιμη πεζοδρόμηση του τμήματος της οδού 1ης Σεπτεμβρίου, μεταξύ των οδών 25ης Μαρτίου και 10ης Φεβρουαρίου» — the permanent pedestrianisation of the section of 1is Septemvriou street between 25is Martiou street and 10is Fevrouariou street, in the Κοινότητα Αγιάς.
Three streets named after Greek national dates, and the two that are not closed are the two that mark the ends of the one that is. 🔑 This is the smallest scheme in this corpus's Greek set and the page says so rather than dressing it up: one block, no season, no clock, no charge, no permit and no emission criterion.
It is also permanent — «μόνιμη» is the act's own word, and it is what separates this from the summer pedestrianisations of Mytilene, Sifnos and Thira. 🚨 Two things about it are genuinely open, and both are the publisher's doing rather than a gap in the search. First, the act gives no commencement date at all.
Its only clause on the point is the third condition — «Τα λοιπά μέτρα που λαμβάνονται με την παρούσα απόφαση να ισχύουν από την τοποθέτηση των οικείων πινακίδων σήμανσης» — the measures apply from the placing of the relevant signs, and there is no «ισχύς … από τη δημοσίευσή της» sentence anywhere in the act.
So `effective_from` is null because the gazette declines to give a date, which is the second act in this corpus to behave that way after Nafplio. Second, the act names no sign.
It orders «οι οικείες πινακίδες σήμανσης» as a category and prints no code — no Ρ-55, no plate of any kind — so what a driver meets at the mouth of the block is whatever the municipality put there. ⚠️ And the act is nearly a year old at the time of writing: council decision 62/2025 was taken by majority rather than unanimously, the gazette went out on 27 October 2025, and nothing this project holds says whether the signs have since gone up.
The street decides, not this page.

Agios Nikolaos is the harbour town of eastern Crete, built around a lake that opens into the Gulf of Mirabello, and οδός Καστ. Μιραμπέλλο is the street that runs along that harbour front.
On 19 July 2024 the Αποκεντρωμένη Διοίκηση Κρήτης gazetted the approval of the town council's decision 130/2024, and its fifth operative point is a single sentence: «Απαγόρευση εισόδου σε οχήματα συνολικού βάρους άνω των 3,5τ. στην οδό Καστ. Μιραμπέλλο» — no entry for vehicles whose total weight exceeds 3.5 tonnes.
That sentence is what this record carries, and it is carried because it is the one measure on the page that is complete without anything the publisher withheld: a named street, a named threshold, a named vehicle property. 🚨 THE PAGE'S CENTRAL TRAP, AND THE REASON TO READ THIS PARAGRAPH BEFORE THE REST.
The same act's FIRST operative point announces something far more interesting — «Εποχιακή / περιοδική απαγόρευσης κυκλοφορίας οχημάτων ΙΧ από τις 18:00 έως τις 24:00 και από 15 Ιουνίου έως 15 Σεπτεμβρίου κάθε έτους», a seasonal evening ban on private cars, renewing itself every year.
It reads like the headline and the gazette's own table of contents treats it as one. 🚫 It is not in this record as a rule, because the sentence finishes «στα τμήματα των οδών που περιγράφονται στην παραπάνω (26) σχετική μελέτη» — on the street sections described in the traffic study — and that study is not published.
The act says where its originals are kept: «στα αρχεία της Αποκεντρωμένης Διοίκησης Κρήτης (ΔΙΠΕΧΩΣ) και στη Διεύθυνση Μελετών του Δήμου Αγίου Νικολάου». A driver reading the gazette cannot learn which streets close at six in the evening in July. ⚠️ So do not read the 18:00–24:00 clock or the 15 June – 15 September season as belonging to the weight ban.
They belong to a different measure in the same decision, and the weight ban carries no clock at all. 🔑 The town's whole scheme, as gazetted, is six points and only the fifth is a restriction of the kind this corpus publishes. Points 2 and 3 reverse the direction of two street sections, point 4 forbids stopping and parking along one of them, and point 6 settles which of two crossing streets has priority.
Those are ordinary traffic-layout measures, not access restrictions, and none of them is claimed here.

Aigio is the second town of Achaea, on the Gulf of Corinth about 40 km east of Patras, and a place a driver meets by choice rather than by accident: the old town sits on a shelf above the harbour and the shopping streets run across it.
On 15 May 2025 the Decentralised Administration of the Peloponnese, Western Greece and the Ionian approved decision 52/2025 of the Aigialeia municipal council and pedestrianised five named stretches of that shelf, under article 52 §1 of the Highway Code. 🔑 The five, with the act's own end points: οδός Κλεομένους Οικονόμου from Βασιλέως Κωνσταντίνου to Ερμού — the central street, and the one the whole scheme is named after; οδός Ασημάκη Φωτήλα from Βασιλέως Κωνσταντίνου to Ταξιαρχών; οδός Βαλφούρ from Ανδρέα Λόντου to Ασημάκη Φωτήλα; οδός Ανδριανοπούλου from Ανδρέα Λόντου to Κλεομένους Οικονόμου; and οδός Γερμανού from Κλεομένους Οικονόμου to Πολυχρονιάδου.
Two further measures in the same act are not closures and are recorded here as what they are: a contraflow lane reserved for urban buses on οδός Βασιλέως Κωνσταντίνου between Κλεομένους Οικονόμου and Κολοκοτρώνη, and a stopping and parking ban on both sides of that same stretch. 🔑 What makes this page unusual in this corpus's Greek set is not the closure but the second document.
A Greek pedestrianisation order almost never prints the terms of access — who may still drive in, when a shop may be supplied, what a delivery lorry may weigh — because the Highway Code leaves those to a municipal «κανονισμός λειτουργίας», and this project has been stopped by exactly that gap three times: Nafpaktia's regulation is not obtainable at all, Patras's is inside an unpublished technical report, and Skala's sits on a portal closed by its own robots file.
Aigialeia published its own. Council decision 10/2025 (ΑΔΑ: 9Β43Ω6Χ-314) approves the «Κανονισμός Κυκλοφοριακής Οργάνωσης και Στάθμευσης - Κανονισμός Λειτουργίας Πεζοδρόμων Δήμου Αιγιαλείας» as a PDF on the municipality's website, and it is read in full below. 🚨 Two limits, and both are the publisher's rather than this project's.
The order commences «από την τοποθέτηση των οικείων πινακίδων σήμανσης ή των διαγραμμίσεων στο οδόστρωμα» — when the signs or the road markings go in — and nobody has published the day that happened, so `effective_from` is null and this page cannot tell you whether the bollards are up.
And the act contradicts itself about the town plan: recital 30 says council decision 345/2024 «κινήθηκε η διαδικασία τροποποίησης του σχεδίου πόλεως Αιγίου», that the amendment procedure was started, while recitals 32 and 42 say the same decision 345/2024 is the one by which «εγκρίθηκε η τροποποίηση του σχεδίου πόλεως του Αιγίου για την πεζοδρόμηση των οδικών τμημάτων» — that it was approved.
Both sentences are in the same eight-page issue. No presidential planning decree for it was found in the gazette.

Alexandroupoli is the last Greek city on the road east before the Turkish border, the Egnatia Odos runs past it, and its harbour is the mainland end of the crossing to Samothraki — so a visiting driver usually arrives with a car and parks near the seafront.
Two published acts, seven years apart, decide what happens on the streets behind that seafront. 🔑 The first is a presidential decree of 21 October 2021, published in ΦΕΚ Δ' 855 on 30 November 2021, which amends the city's approved town plan at block Ο.Τ. 277 and turns two stretches into a pedestrian street eight metres wide: a stretch of οδός Νικ.
Φωκά from λεωφόρος Δημοκρατίας to οδός Ειρήνης, and a stretch of οδός Ειρήνης from οδός Νικ. Φωκά to οδός Ψαρρών. Like the Patras decree in this corpus it is a town-planning instrument rather than a traffic order: it does not order signs, it changes what those two stretches legally are, and the Highway Code then does the prohibiting.
Its Article 2 fixes force on publication with no condition attached, so the commencement date here is real. 🔑 The second is the municipality's own pedestrian-street regulation, «Κανονισμός λειτουργίας των πεζοδρόμων του Δήμου Αλεξανδρούπολης», gazetted in ΦΕΚ Β' 2549 on 18 August 2016 inside the approval of the second phase of the city's traffic study.
That regulation is what makes this record unusually complete for a Greek pedestrianisation: it says in its own first article that it governs the pedestrian streets of the municipality's settlements «υφιστάμενους και μελλοντικούς» — existing and future — and then sets out, clause by clause, who may drive on one, at what speed, and at what hours a shop may be resupplied. 🚨 Two limits belong next to all of that.
Five years have passed since the decree and it ordered no works, no signs and no completion date; this project holds nothing that says what is built at that junction today.
And the operative sentence of the decree cannot be read out of the gazette's own PDF — the column it sits in uses a subset font with no character map — so its wording below is quoted from the gazette's full-text search index instead, with the accents and capitals restored. That is stated wherever it matters rather than hidden. 🆕 A third strand was measured on 24 September 2026 and it does not change the rule above.
Alexandroupoli also closes its seafront and several central streets to vehicles on summer evenings — but by a separate act passed afresh every year under the Highway Code, not by the town plan.
ΦΕΚ Β' 3404/13.06.2024, ΦΕΚ Β' 1775/10.04.2025 and ΦΕΚ Β' 2669/13.05.2026 each approve one season, each names its own start and end date, and the evening window moved from 18:00–24:00 in 2024 to 20:00–01:00 in 2025 and again in 2026.
The 2026 season ended on 20 September 2026 and no act for 2027 had been gazetted when this was written, so none of it is encoded here as a timetable; it is set out under `how_to_comply` so that a driver arriving in summer knows to look for that year's act. 🔑 Those same acts also report, in passing, that parts of οδός Ζαρίφη and οδός Κουντουριώτου are already pedestrian streets under the current town plan — which is how this page learned that the conversion below is not the only one in the city centre.

Ancient Olympia is the seat of Δήμος Αρχαίας Ολυμπίας in Π.Ε. Ηλείας, and οδός Πραξιτέλους Κονδύλη is the street the municipality's own notices mark «(κεντρική οδός)» — the one you would drive along to pass through the village. Every night from 20:00 to 07:00 a section of it — from the junction with οδός Τσουρεκά to the junction with οδός Χ.
Κοσμόπουλου, which the municipality describes as «από την πλατεία του Ι.Ν. Κοιμήσεως Θεοτόκου έως την πλατεία Δημαρχείου» — is closed to vehicles and becomes a pedestrian street. 🔑 The legal history is the reason this record exists, and it is a two-act story a reader should not have to reconstruct.
In ΦΕΚ Β' 1211/06.03.2023 the Αποκεντρωμένη Διοίκηση Πελοποννήσου, Δυτικής Ελλάδας και Ιονίου approved the municipality's traffic scheme for the settlement «πλην των ακόλουθων κυκλοφοριακών ρυθμίσεων: i. Της περιοδικής πεζοδρόμησης της οδού Πραξιτέλους Κονδύλη» — everything except this.
It refused because two things were missing: «πρέπει να προηγηθεί η έγκριση Κανονισμού Λειτουργίας Πεζοδρόμου και να τεκμηριωθεί η ομαλή εκτροπή της κυκλοφορίας». 🔑 Both were then supplied — council decision 64/2024 approved the pedestrian-street operating regulation, and traffic study 14/2024 documented the alternative route — and on 26 November 2024 the same authority gazetted ΦΕΚ Β' 6465/2024, which records that «εξέλειψαν οι λόγοι μη έγκρισης», approves council decision 143/2024, and states that «με την παρούσα επέρχεται τροποποίηση της υπ’ αρ.
15416/28.02.2023 (Β’ 1211) προγενέστερης απόφασης κατά το σημείο i. του αποφασιστικού της σκέλους». The exception was lifted by amending the act that made it. 🚨 What the gazette does NOT print is the operative detail.
Neither issue gives the end points of the section, the hours, or the exceptions; the 2024 act approves the measure «σύμφωνα με την υπ’ αρ.
(38) σχετική κυκλοφοριακή μελέτη και τα διαγράμματα που τη συνοδεύουν», and that study is not published in the gazette. 🔑 The municipality published the detail itself, twice, on its own site: on 17 June 2025 when the measure first came into effect and on 11 June 2026 when it was put back into effect, in the same words both times.
This record's hours, section and exceptions come from those two pages, and they are quoted on it. ⚠️ One thing no source this project holds will say: whether the measure is lifted outside the summer. The act calls it «περιοδική» and attaches no calendar; the municipality announced a start on 20 June 2025 and again on 15 June 2026 and published no end on either occasion.
The nightly window is therefore encoded for every day of the year, which over-warns in winter if the barriers come out — the safe direction, stated rather than assumed away.

Antiparos is a small Cycladic island, and the road this record is about is the seafront road at the port of its one town — the strip a driver coming off a boat meets first.
A decision gazetted on 10 September 2026 turns a length of it into a zone reserved for pedestrians and for people with disabilities, and the striking thing about the rule, for anyone used to Greek town-centre regulations, is what it leaves out: there are no hours. No opening time, no closing time, no season, no weekday.
Where the corpus's other Greek pedestrian schemes print a window beside every street — Hersonissos closes its eight segments «από 01-05 έως 31.10 και από ώρες από 18:00 έως 05:00» — this one prints none at all, so the zone reads as permanent and the answer to "when can I drive down there" is simply never. 🔑 The extent is published with unusual precision and unusual narrowness at the same time.
The decision gives no street name and no map. It gives two survey points in the Greek national grid, ΕΓΣΑ 87 — 596306 / 4099552 marked «Αρχή», the start, and 596205 / 4099801 marked «Τέλος», the end — and the signs to be planted at each.
Those two numbers are 101 metres apart east to west and 249 metres apart north to south on the grid, which is a stretch of roughly 270 metres of one road: that is our arithmetic on the published figures, not a distance the municipality states. ⚠️ Nobody is named as exempt.
Unlike Hersonissos, which lists four categories of driver who may still enter, this decision lists none — but it does order sign Ρ-55, and the Highway Code writes the exceptions into the sign itself: «απαγορευμένης της διέλευσης άλλων εκτός πεζών, οχημάτων άμεσης ανάγκης και οχημάτων για την είσοδο - έξοδο σε παρόδιες ιδιοκτησίες».
Pedestrians, emergency vehicles, and vehicles going in and out of a property on that road. A visitor is none of those, and there is no permit, no day pass and no charge of any kind anywhere in the act. ⚠️ The most important caveat is about time, and it is the publisher's own.
The decision's third condition says the measures take effect «από την τοποθέτηση των οικείων πινακίδων σήμανσης» — from the moment the signs go up — and it does not say when that is. So this record cannot tell you the day the zone started.
It can tell you the act exists, that it has been gazetted, and that the day the signs appear is the day it bites; if you are there and the posts are bare, the act has not caught up with the ground yet, and if there is a Ρ-55 sign facing you, it has. 🚨 **And this is not the only pedestrianisation on Antiparos.** A second decision of the same authority, gazetted three weeks earlier on 19 August 2026, amends a 2021 act — «την τροποποίηση της υπ’ αρ.
So somewhere on this island a *periodic* pedestrianisation now runs from 15 January to 15 December every year — eleven months. 🚫 **Which streets, and at what hours, this project cannot tell you**, and it is important to say so rather than let this page imply the seafront zone is the whole story: the 2021 act it amends was never published in the gazette, the amendment reproduces none of it, and antiparos.gr answers HTTP 403 behind Cloudflare to the home page and to robots.txt alike.
What is published is a season without a map. This record covers the port seafront zone and nothing else.

Αρεόπολη is the stone-built market town of the Mani peninsula, in Λακωνία at the southern end of the Peloponnese, and on summer afternoons three connected stretches of its old centre stop being roads. From 1 March to 31 October, between three in the afternoon and four the next morning, vehicles may not use the stone-paved municipal street sections or the part of the road that rings πλατεία Αθανάτων.
On Sundays and public holidays the ban runs the whole twenty-four hours. The measure is decision 37/2018 of the municipal council of Δήμος Ανατολικής Μάνης, approved by the Συντονιστής of the Αποκεντρωμένη Διοίκηση Πελοποννήσου, Δυτικής Ελλάδας και Ιονίου at Πάτρα on 15 March 2019 and gazetted a week later. 🔑 THIS IS THE FIRST GREEK ACT IN THIS CORPUS THAT PUBLISHES ITS PLAN.
Twelve earlier Greek records asked the same question — is the drawing the act approves actually in the gazette? — and all twelve ended in «not published». This issue is 14 645 845 bytes for twelve pages, and six of those pages are full-sheet rasters: plan Σ3 «Οριζοντιογραφία εναλλακτικής διαδρομής» at 1:1.000, plan Σ5 «Κυκλοφοριακή ρύθμιση» at 1:500 — the one the operative part names — and plan Σ6 at 1:20.
They are legible. They carry a labelled national-grid tick mesh, street names the act itself never writes, and a legend. 🔑 AND Σ6 IS SOMETHING NO OTHER RECORD IN THIS CORPUS HAS: A DIMENSIONED DRAWING OF THE SIGN THE DRIVER WILL ACTUALLY MEET.
It is an engineering elevation of the information board, 2 394 mm by 2 670 mm, «ΕΜΒΑΔΟ: 6.39m²», with every letter height figured — and the text on its face is the timetable in the act's own terms: «ΠΕΡΙΟΔΙΚΗ ΠΕΖΟΔΡΟΜΗΣΗ ΚΑΤΑ ΤΟΥΣ ΜΗΝΕΣ 1/3 - 31/10 ΩΡΕΣ: 15:00 4:00» and, below it, «ΚΥΡΙΑΚΗ ΚΑΙ ΑΡΓΙΕΣ ΟΛΟ ΤΟ 24ΩΡΟ». ⚠️ AND YET THE BOUNDARY IS STILL NOT PUBLISHED, FOR A REASON THE DRAWINGS PRINT ON THEMSELVES.
In the bottom-left corner of both site plans their own producer has printed «Για τεχνικούς λόγους στο σχεδιάγραμμα, από το ηλεκτρονικό αρχείο, έγινε σμίκρυνση κατά ποσοστό» — for technical reasons the drawing was reduced by a percentage — and the percentage is left blank.
A drawing whose author will not say what scale it is now at is not a measuring instrument, and this project does not trace a polygon off a raster in any case. 🚨 THE EXTENT IS THEREFORE IN METRES AND CAFÉ NAMES, WHICH IS A SHAPE THIS CORPUS HAS NOT SEEN BEFORE.
The act gives three sections and their lengths — 85 m, 85 m plus 65 m, and 230 m, about 465 m in all — and fixes their ends by naming four businesses: the Ξιφαράς, Ψωίνου and Γούδη cafés and the shop «Μαύρα Μεσάνυχτα». Not one street name, and not one coordinate. 🔑 IT ALSO EXEMPTS MORE CLASSES THAN ANY OTHER GREEK ACT HERE, AND BICYCLES ARE AMONG THEM.

Athens sorts delivery vehicles by weight and by the clock, and it does it across the whole municipality rather than inside a drawn zone. Between 21:00 and 09:00 the next morning, any type of goods vehicle may circulate and supply the city's businesses, supermarkets and other shops.
For the rest of the day — 09:00 to 21:00, every day of the week — that resupply may only be carried out by vehicles whose gross weight is up to two tonnes. There is no charge, no sticker, no permit to buy and no exhaust class that changes the answer: the Regional Council of Attica wrote a clock and a weight, and nothing else.
If you are driving a car, none of it reaches you at any hour, and the same is true of a van being driven rather than used to supply a shop. Two carve-outs sit inside the city.
The supply of the fresh-fish shops of the Varvakios market is expressly taken out of the Athens prohibition, and the Commercial Triangle — the block bounded by Athinas, Plateia Omonoias, Stadiou, Plateia Syntagmatos and Mitropoleos — is governed for supply purposes not by this decision at all but by a 1997 joint ministerial decision that this one points at and does not reproduce.
Above those sit six exemptions that run through the whole instrument, of which one is about the vehicle rather than the errand: a purely electric vehicle of up to 2.5 tonnes gross is outside the restrictions. The decision is not seasonal and not annual, and that is the change that makes it publishable.
Its immediate predecessor was an annual instrument — decision 78/2021 fixed the hours «για το χρονικό διάστημα από ψήφισης της παρούσης έως και τις 31.12.2021» — whereas this one states that it runs from publication until a newer decision is issued. Two supplements in 2025 amended it without replacing it, which is how we know it is still the operative text.
Penalty €150.00
Dafni-Ymittos is one of eight Attica municipalities timetabled by a single decision of the Regional Council of Attica, and its case is two sentences long. Between 19:00 and 07:00 the next morning, any type of goods vehicle may resupply the shops of the town.
For the rest of the day — 07:00 to 19:00, every day of the week — that resupply is to be carried out with vehicles of gross weight up to two tonnes, which means a heavier goods vehicle has no daytime hour in which the decision lets it deliver here. There is no charge, no permit, no sticker and no emission class anywhere in the instrument: the Regional Council wrote a clock and a weight.
If you are driving a car none of it reaches you at any hour, and neither does a van that is simply being driven rather than used to resupply a shop.
What this case does NOT have matters as much as what it has, because two of its neighbours in the same decision do have it: Ilioupoli and Irakleio Attikis both exempt shops with their own loading and unloading space from keeping the timetable, and the Dafni-Ymittos case contains no such sentence. This record does not import one.
Above the case sit the six exemptions that run through the whole instrument, of which one is about the vehicle rather than the errand — a purely electric vehicle of up to 2.5 tonnes gross is outside the restrictions.
The decision is not seasonal and not annual; it runs from publication until a newer decision is issued, and two supplements in 2025 amended it without replacing it, which is how we know it is still the operative text. One thing about the name is worth knowing before navigating here: the hyphen is two places, not one.
The decision is written to the Δήμος Δάφνης - Υμηττού, the municipality, and OpenStreetMap carries a component unit called Δημοτική Ενότητα Δάφνης at a level beneath it, so the rule covers the whole authority rather than either part that the name joins.
Penalty €150.00
Εμπορειός is a village on Nisyros, a small island in the Dodecanese, and for six months of the year one class of vehicle may not enter it.
Two signposts carry it here, at positions the act fixes in ΕΓΣΑ 87 coordinates, and two supplementary plates on each post print the periods. 🚨 «ΜΟΤΟΠΟΔΗΛΑΤΟ» IS NOT THE WORD A DRIVER THINKS IT IS, AND THAT IS THE WHOLE POINT OF THIS PAGE. In English the sign reads "no mopeds" and a reader with four wheels drives on.
Greek law defines the class by performance, not by shape. Measured on ν. 5209/2025 on 2026-09-28, article 4 §36 says «Μοτοποδήλατο: ελαφρύ μηχανοκίνητο δίκυκλο, τρίκυκλο ή τετράκυκλο όχημα, με μέγιστη σχεδιαστική ταχύτητα σαράντα πέντε (45) χιλιομέτρων την ώρα», and it lists four members.
One of them is «δ) το ελαφρύ τετράκυκλο (L6e), με μάζα σε κατάσταση ετοιμότητας προς κυκλοφορία μικρότερης από ή ίσης με τετρακόσια είκοσι πέντε χιλιόγραμμα (425 kg) … και διαθέτουν έως δύο (2) θέσεις καθίσματος». A light quadricycle has four wheels, a body, a roof and two seats. Under this sign it is a moped, and it may not come in. 🔑 AND THE OTHER END OF THE CLASS IS AN ELECTRIC BICYCLE.
The same article lists «γ) το μηχανοκίνητο δίκυκλο (L1e-A) … ποδήλατα που έχουν σχεδιαστεί για ποδηλάτηση, με βοηθητική μηχανή πρόωσης … μικρότερη από ή ίση με ένα κιλοβάτ (1 kW)», while §59 defines «Ποδήλατο» as a cycle whose electric assistance is «μέγιστης συνεχούς ονομαστικής ισχύος μηδέν κόμμα είκοσι πέντε κιλοβάτ (0,25 kW)» and cuts out at 25 km/h.
So the line runs through the motor: at or below 0,25 kW you are a bicycle and the sign does not concern you; above it, up to 1 kW, you are a μοτοποδήλατο and it does. 🚫 A MOTORCYCLE IS NOT BARRED HERE, AND THAT IS A CHOICE THE SAME AUTHORITY MADE IN THE SAME DOCUMENT. The Code has Ρ-10 «Απαγορεύεται η είσοδος στις μοτοσικλέτες» and Ρ-11 for bicycles, and the municipality ordered neither.
In the first measure of this very act it ordered Ρ-19, which bars every motor vehicle, for the village of Μανδράκι, 3,8 km away. Here it ordered Ρ-12 and nothing else. 🚫 Do not read this page as a general closure: a car, a van and a 125 cc motorcycle are all outside it.

Φιλιάτες is a small town in Θεσπρωτία, in the Epirus region of north-west mainland Greece. One street in it stops being a street on summer evenings. From 15 June to 15 September every year, every day of the week, between seven in the evening and one in the morning, vehicles may not use the road opposite the church of Άγιος Δημήτριος.
The measure is decision 101/2024 of the municipal council of Δήμος Φιλιατών, approved by the Γραμματέας of the Αποκεντρωμένη Διοίκηση Ηπείρου - Δυτικής Μακεδονίας at Ιωάννινα on 8 November 2024 and gazetted four days later. 🔑 THE RARE THING IN THIS ACT IS THAT IT SAYS WHERE. Every other Greek closure in this corpus describes its extent in words and leaves the drawing unpublished.
This one prints two surveyed points in the national grid — «από το σημείο Α (Χ: 182722.33, Ψ: 4389704.38) έως το σημείο Β (Χ: 182704.47, Ψ: 4389665.88)» — and those two points are about 42 metres apart.
So the closure is not a district or a quarter or an ambiguous stretch of seafront: it is a single short length of road, fixed to the ground by the authority that ordered it. 🔑 And it says «κάθε έτους» — of each year — in so many words. That matters because its nearest sibling in this corpus, the Πλατανιάς evening closure, does not, and there the annual recurrence had to be published as an inference.
Here it is a quotation. 🚨 WHAT THIS RECORD CANNOT TELL YOU IS THE FINE, AND THAT IS A DELIBERATE BLANK RATHER THAN AN OVERSIGHT. The act prints no figure.
It also names no sign — where the Πλατανιάς act orders Ρ-55 and the Κάρπαθος act orders Ρ-7, this one orders «οι οικείες πινακίδες σήμανσης» as a category and stops — so the Greek Highway Code's sign tariff has nothing to attach to. And it never calls the road a πεζόδρομος, which is the other route this corpus has used to price a Greek closure.
The result is a real restriction with no sourceable price, and it is published as exactly that. ⚠️ One more thing the act does not do: it does not exempt anybody. There is no emergency-vehicle carve-out written into it, no residents' clause and no delivery window.
Compare the Γλυφάδα fire-risk closure of 2025, which exempted «τα οχήματα έκτακτης ανάγκης» in its operative sentence; this one says «απαγόρευση κυκλοφορίας οχημάτων» and leaves it there.
Galatsi is one of eight Attica municipalities timetabled by a single decision of the Regional Council of Attica, and its case is two sentences long — the shortest of the eight. Between 20:00 and 07:00 the next morning, any type of goods vehicle may resupply the shops of the town.
For the rest of the day — 07:00 to 20:00, every day of the week — that resupply is to be carried out with vehicles of gross weight up to two tonnes, which means a heavier goods vehicle has no daytime hour in which the decision lets it deliver here. There is no charge, no permit, no sticker and no emission class anywhere in the instrument: the Regional Council wrote a clock and a weight.
If you are driving a car none of it reaches you at any hour, and neither does a van that is simply being driven rather than used to resupply a shop. What Galatsi does NOT have is worth saying as plainly as what it has, because two of its neighbours in the same decision do.
Ilioupoli's case and Irakleio Attikis's case both exempt shops that have their own loading and unloading space from keeping the timetable at all; the Galatsi case contains no such sentence, and this record does not import one.
Galatsi's window is also the latest-closing of the four suburban cases: 20:00 rather than the 19:00 of Ilioupoli, Dafni-Ymittos and Irakleio Attikis, and an hour earlier than the capital's 21:00.

The Venetian fortifications of Heraklion — the walls and the moat that runs round the old town — are closed to every vehicle, permanently. The approval is short and it is not hedged: «Την έγκριση του μέρους της απόφασης 344/2019 του Δημοτικού Συμβουλίου Ηρακλείου που αφορά μέτρα για την απαγόρευση της εισόδου σε όλα τα οχήματα στην Τάφρο και τα Ενετικά Τείχη Ηρακλείου Κρήτης».
The Αποκεντρωμένη Διοίκηση Κρήτης calls the measures «μόνιμες κυκλοφοριακές ρυθμίσεις» — permanent — and prints no season, no clock and no day of the week anywhere in the act. 🔑 THE SIGN THE COUNCIL ORDERED IS Ρ-8, AND THE CODE'S WORDS FOR IT ARE STRONGER THAN THE ACT'S OWN PROSE.
The gazette quotes the municipal paragraph verbatim: «Η απαγόρευση της εισόδου των οχημάτων θα γίνει με την τοποθέτηση κατακόρυφης σήμανσης Ρ8». Under ν. 5209/2025 article 7 §3, «η) Ρ-8: Κλειστή οδός για όλα τα οχήματα και προς τις δύο κατευθύνσεις» — road closed to all vehicles, in both directions.
The neighbouring code, Ρ-7, is the one whose legend is «Απαγορεύεται η είσοδος σε όλα τα οχήματα», which is the phrase the authority uses in its own sentence.
The two are priced identically, so nothing about the penalty turns on it, but the plate a driver meets on the ground says closed, not no-entry, and it was ordered as new signage: the act's published plan labels its positions «ΝΕΑ ΠΙΝΑΚΙΔΑ Ρ-8». 🚨 THIS IS THE PLACE A VISITING DRIVER ASSUMES IS PARKING, AND THE PAPER TRAIL IN THE ACT IS ENTIRELY ABOUT THAT ASSUMPTION.
The moat is a chain of open ground round the old town — gardens, sports grounds, the Kazantzakis tomb on the Martinengo bastion, an open-air theatre — and cars had been using it.
The act's own preamble records the Ministry of Culture refusing, in 2014, «αιτήματος … για τη λειτουργία υπαίθριων χώρων στάθμευσης στην περιοχή της τάφρου των ενετικών τειχών Ηρακλείου», a municipal request to run car parks there; then council decision 701/2017, «Έγκριση μέτρων για την απαγόρευση της στάθμευσης οχημάτων στην περίμετρο της τάφρου και των ενετικών τειχών Ηρακλείου»; and then «το γεγονός ότι υπάρχει επαναλαμβανόμενη αλληλογραφία και οχλήσεις από την Εφορεία Αρχαιοτήτων Ηρακλείου προς το Δήμο Ηρακλείου για την εφαρμογή των μέτρων» — the antiquities service writing repeatedly to the municipality to get the measures applied.
The 2019 act says its approval also carries «όλα τα μέτρα που περιγράφονται στο αντίστοιχο μέρος της προγενέστερης απόφασης (701/2017)», so the parking ban is inside this one. ➡️ Do not drive into the moat to leave the car there. ⚠️ WHAT THE GAZETTE DOES NOT DO IS NAME A SINGLE STREET.
It fixes the extent by reference — «στους χώρους όπως αποτυπώνονται στο συν. σχ. 16» — and that plan is printed in the same issue, as four drawing sheets titled «ΑΠΑΓΟΡΕΥΣΗ ΕΙΣΟΔΟΥ ΣΕ ΟΛΑ ΤΑ ΟΧΗΜΑΤΑ ΣΤΗΝ ΠΕΡΙΟΧΗ ΤΗΣ ΤΑΦΡΟΥ ΚΑΙ ΤΩΝ ΕΝΕΤΙΚΩΝ ΤΕΙΧΩΝ ΗΡΑΚΛΕΙΟΥ».
So the regulated thing is a monument, not a road list, and the boulevards that run outside the walls are not named in it. Read the plates where the ground opens off the ring road.

Limenas Chersonisou — the beach resort that English-speaking visitors call Hersonissos — closes eight named street segments to traffic every evening of the summer season, and the rule is unusually easy to state: from 1 May to 31 October, between 18:00 and 05:00, they are pedestrian streets.
Outside that window the same streets reopen as ordinary one-way or two-way roads, and the decision spells out the direction each of them takes when it is open, which is why this is a navigation fact rather than a sign to be read on arrival.
The streets are the ones a visitor actually walks down: three consecutive lengths of Agias Paraskevis, the resort's bar and restaurant spine, together with Daidalou, Sanoudaki, Oulof Palme, a length of 25is Martiou and one unnamed connector, all of them between the old harbour and the main road. 🔑 Who may still drive in is a short list and a visitor is not on it: permanent residents who hold a parking space, owned or rented, permanent residents using a parking card, business owners with a parking space, and the ambulance, fire, police and refuse services.
There is no tourist permit, no day pass and nothing to buy — the decision creates no charge of any kind.
What it creates instead, for anyone delivering to a shop, is a timetable: supply runs are confined to 07:00–10:00 in the morning and 16:00–18:00 in the afternoon, and during those windows a supply vehicle — and only a supply vehicle — may stop where stopping is otherwise banned. ⚠️ The most important thing on this page is a limit on it.
The instrument published here approves only the part of the traffic study that falls on the MUNICIPAL road network; its own title says so, and the table it prints is headed "municipal roads that do NOT affect the national network".
The municipality's public consultation of January 2025 proposed a second and larger set of pedestrian streets — Minoos, Evangelistrias, Papadogiorgi, 28is Oktovriou, Emmanouil Marangaki, Giampoudaki, Michail Aspetaki, Machis Kritis and more — in the table headed "municipal roads that DO affect the national network", along with a 30 km/h limit on the old national road through the resort.
None of that is in this gazette issue, and we have not found it approved anywhere else.
So a driver in Hersonissos should expect to meet more pedestrianised street than this record can source, and should treat the eight segments below as the part that is certainly in force rather than as the whole of it. ⚠️ One further difference between the proposal and the act is worth carrying, because it runs both ways: the consultation pedestrianised Agias Paraskevis from Machis Kritis to Solomou and said nothing about 25is Martiou, while the published decision does the opposite.
The published decision is the one that governs, and it is the one quoted here.

Ilioupoli is one of eight Attica municipalities timetabled by a single decision of the Regional Council of Attica, and its case is four sentences long.
One carve-out is written into Ilioupoli's own case and it is not in every neighbour's: shops that have their own loading and unloading space, and so do not burden the public space, are exempt from keeping the loading timetable at all.
Above that sit the six exemptions that run through the whole instrument, of which one is about the vehicle rather than the errand — a purely electric vehicle of up to 2.5 tonnes gross is outside the restrictions.
The decision is not seasonal and not annual; it runs from publication until a newer decision is issued, and two supplements in 2025 amended it without replacing it, which is how we know it is still the operative text. Two things about the shape are worth noticing before reading Athens across into Ilioupoli.
The window is the opposite way round from the capital's — Athens opens at 21:00, Ilioupoli at 19:00 — and Ilioupoli's case names «τα καταστήματα (super markets) της πόλης» where the Athens case names businesses, supermarkets and other shops. The threshold, though, is the same measurement in both: gross weight, not useful load.
Penalty €150.00
Irakleio Attikis is the eighth and newest case of a single Attica traffic decision, added to it in July 2025 at the request of the municipality's own council. Loading and unloading of goods for the supply of the town's businesses, supermarkets and other shops is permitted from 19:00 to 07:00.
Outside those permitted hours — 07:00 to 19:00, every day of the week — the resupply is to be carried out with vehicles of gross weight up to two tonnes, which means a heavier goods vehicle has no daytime hour in which the decision lets it deliver here. Shops that have their own loading and unloading space, and so do not burden the public space, are exempt from the timetable altogether.
The decision adds one instruction that none of the other seven cases contains: the hours printed on the town's existing loading-bay signs are to be adjusted to match it, so a sign in Irakleio Attikis that still shows an older window is a sign that has not been changed yet rather than a different rule. There is no charge, no permit, no sticker and no emission class anywhere in the instrument.
If you are driving a car none of it reaches you at any hour, and neither does a van that is simply being driven rather than used to resupply a shop. Above the case sit the six exemptions that run through the whole instrument, of which one is about the vehicle rather than the errand — a purely electric vehicle of up to 2.5 tonnes gross is outside the restrictions.
Unlike the other suburban cases, this one is written in the full language of the parent decision — «των επιχειρήσεων, των υπεραγορών και των λοιπών καταστημάτων», businesses, supermarkets and other shops — rather than the shorter «καταστημάτων (super markets)» of Ilioupoli, Galatsi and Dafni-Ymittos. ⚠️ Do not confuse this town with Heraklion in Crete, which is a different city of the same Greek name and is not in this decision.
Penalty €150.00
Kalamata is the capital of Messinia and the town most drivers pass through on the way to the Mani peninsula and to Pylos, and on 18 October 2018 the Αποκεντρωμένη Διοίκηση Πελοποννήσου, Δυτικής Ελλάδας και Ιονίου gazetted a decision that makes three short stretches of its centre pedestrian streets. 🔑 The three, in the act's own words, are «της οδού Σφακτηρίας από την οδό Κολοκοτρώνη έως την οδό Σταδίου», «της οδού Καπετάν Κρόμπα από την οδό Αριστομένους έως την οδό Σφακτηρίας» and «της οδού Αναπλιώτη από την οδό Αριστομένους έως την οδό Σφακτηρίας».
All three run off or towards Αριστομένους, the long central avenue, in the block of streets behind it. 🔑 What makes this act usable is the clause that introduces them.
The designation is «ως πεζόδρομων, που προβλέπονται στο εγκεκριμένο πολεοδομικό σχέδιο της Καλαμάτας» — as pedestrian streets that are ALREADY provided for in the town's approved plan, certified by the municipal planning department's βεβαίωση 1745/11-4-2018. 🚨 That single phrase is why this record exists and why its sister act in the same city does not have one.
A Greek traffic-regulation decision cannot itself turn a street into a pedestrian street; the town plan has to have done it first, and this act's own tenth condition says so, requiring a separate ministerial procedure «για πεζόδρομους που δεν προβλέπονται στο ισχύον πολεοδομικό σχέδιο».
Six weeks earlier, in ΦΕΚ Β' 3796/04.09.2018, the same authority approved the pedestrianisation of οδός Ιατροπούλου «με την προϋπόθεση της ολοκλήρωσης της διαδικασίας τροποποίησης του εγκεκριμένου Σχεδίου Πόλεως Καλαμάτας» — conditional on a plan change this project searched the gazette for and did not find. 🚫 So Ιατροπούλου is named on this page and encoded nowhere. ⚠️ Two things this act does that are not closures: it widens the pavements of οδός Κολοκοτρώνη between Σφακτηρίας and Αναγνωσταρά and between Αναγνωσταρά and Αγ.
Νικολάου, and it reverses the direction of the remaining, still-driveable part of Αναπλιώτη so that traffic runs away from the pedestrianised stretches.
Κολοκοτρώνη stays open to traffic. 🚨 And the act refuses to give a commencement date: its measures «ισχύουν από την τοποθέτηση της κατάλληλης οριζόντιας και κατακόρυφης σήμανσης», from the moment the signing goes up, which the municipality carries out. `effective_from` is null for that stated reason.
Penalty €350.00
For two months of the summer evening, one road on the Dodecanese island of Kalymnos closes to traffic.
The rule is the first clause of a decision of the Αποκεντρωμένη Διοίκηση Αιγαίου gazetted on 14 August 2026, and the sentence that carries it is short enough to quote whole: «Εγκρίνουμε την περιοδική πεζοδρόμηση, σύμφωνα με τα προβλεπόμενα στον ισχύων κανονισμό πεζοδρόμησης, στην δημοτική οδό που οδηγεί στην πλατεία της Ρίνας με κατεύθυνση προς το λιμανάκι στην περιοχή «Ρίνα» του Βαθύ Δήμου Καλυμνίων, κατά την περίοδο από 15η Ιουλίου έως 15η Σεπτεμβρίου από 19:30 μ.μ. έως 24:00 π.μ.» — the periodic pedestrianisation of the municipal road that leads to the square of Rina, heading towards the little harbour, in the Rina district of Vathy, from 15 July to 15 September, 19:30 to midnight. 🔑 This matters to a visitor more than its size suggests.
Vathy is the fjord on the east coast of Kalymnos that excursion boats and hire cars come to see, Rina is the hamlet at the head of it, and the road being closed is the one that runs down to the water where the tavernas are — so the closure lands exactly on the evening a visitor is most likely to drive there. ⚠️ The act orders one sign and prints its code as **P-55**, which the Greek Highway Code defines as a pedestrian street admitting only pedestrians, emergency vehicles and vehicles going in and out of a property on that road.
It also prints one surveyed point for it, in the Greek national grid, and nothing else of the geometry. 🚨 **The act does not say that the season repeats.** It writes the period as two calendar dates with no year and no «κάθε έτους», where the companion Sifnos act published three weeks earlier says «για κάθε έτος» in so many words.
This record reads it as annual — the dates carry no year, the signage ordered is permanent, and the act was gazetted on 14 August, a month into the first season, which a one-off reading would make close to pointless — but that is a reading, and `hours` says so rather than hiding it. ⚠️ And the rule had not necessarily started even in 2026: the third condition makes the measures effective «από την τοποθέτηση των οικείων πινακίδων σήμανσης», from the day the signs go up, and gives no date for that.
Penalty €350.00
Kamatero is the northern half of the municipality of Άγιοι Ανάργυροι - Καματερό, on the western edge of the Athens basin under Mount Aigaleo.
On 1 June 2022 the Αποκεντρωμένη Διοίκηση Αττικής gazetted its approval of the town council's regulatory decision 287/2020, and the whole operative clause is one sentence: «Την έγκριση της κανονιστικής απόφασης σχετικά με την απαγόρευση της εισόδου σε οχήματα ωφέλιμου φορτίου άνω του 1,5 τόνου στην οδό Γρηγορίου Αυξεντίου στη Δ.Κ.Κ.» — no entry, on οδός Γρηγορίου Αυξεντίου, for vehicles whose payload exceeds 1.5 tonnes. 🚨 THE THRESHOLD IS PAYLOAD, AND THAT IS NOT THE USUAL QUESTION. «Ωφέλιμο φορτίο» is the load a vehicle is rated to carry, not what the vehicle weighs empty and not what it weighs loaded.
Every other weight-based record in this corpus is keyed to gross weight — Agios Nikolaos and Sifnos both say «συνολικού βάρους» — and a van rated to carry 1.6 tonnes can have a gross weight well under 3.5. 🚫 So do not convert this figure into a gross-weight figure, and do not read a 3.5-tonne habit into it.
The act asks one question and it asks it about the payload line on the vehicle's papers. ⚠️ AND THE HIGHWAY CODE HAS NO SIGN FOR THAT QUESTION. Measured on ν.
5209/2025 on 2026-09-25: article 7 §3 defines Ρ-21 by width, Ρ-22 by height, Ρ-23 by «συνολικού βάρους», Ρ-24 by «βάρους ανά άξονα» and Ρ-25 by length, and the tonnage plate under Ρ-13 is defined as «το μέγιστο επιτρεπόμενο βάρος του οχήματος ή του συνδυασμού οχημάτων» — maximum permissible weight. The string «φέλιμ» does not occur anywhere in the 476 629 characters of the Code this project can read.
The municipality has therefore made a rule whose measure its national sign catalogue does not carry, and the act does not say which sign will stand on the street. That is why this record prices no fine (see `penalty`) and why the practical advice below is to read the sign on the post rather than to trust the tonne figure to appear on it.
Πηγάδια is the harbour town of Karpathos, the long thin island between Crete and Rhodes, and for six months of the year its seafront is closed to traffic in the evening.
The act's operative sentence is one long one: «Εγκρίνουμε τις κυκλοφοριακές ρυθμίσεις στην Δημοτική Κοινότητα Καρπάθου και συγκεκριμένα την απαγόρευση εισόδου οχημάτων εντός της παραλιακής οδού Πηγαδιών από το Αμφιθέατρο μέχρι το λιμάνι με τοποθέτηση (2) δυο πινακίδων (Ρ-7) … για την περίοδο από 15 Απριλίου έως και 15 Οκτωβρίου κάθε έτους και για τις ώρες από 19:00 έως τη 01:00».
Two no-entry signs, at two positions the act fixes in survey coordinates, close roughly 350 metres of quayside from seven in the evening until one the next morning. 🚨 AND THEN THE ACT OPENS IT AGAIN FOR THE FERRY, AND THAT IS THE MOST IMPORTANT SENTENCE ON THIS PAGE: «Εξαιρείται η περίοδος δύο (2) ώρες πριν και δύο (2) ώρες μετά από την άφιξη και την αναχώρηση αντίστοιχα της ακτοπλοϊκής γραμμής».
The exempt period is two hours before the arrival and two hours after the departure — respectively — of the coastal shipping line. 🔑 No other exception in this corpus is measured from a timetable somebody else publishes. Every Greek closure held here opens by clock, by calendar, by vehicle class or by a plate on the post; this one opens when a ship is due.
Since the whole closure lasts only six hours, a single evening sailing can lift most of it or all of it — and nothing in the gazette says when the ship comes. 🚫 THIS RECORD THEREFORE CANNOT TELL YOU WHETHER THE ROAD IS OPEN AT A GIVEN MINUTE, AND IT SAYS SO RATHER THAN PRETENDING OTHERWISE.
The timetable below encodes the closure the act prints and leaves the ferry carve-out out of it, because the carve-out has no hours to encode: it has a ship.
If you are driving the quay between 19:00 and 01:00 in season, look up the sailings for Κάρπαθος on the day, and read the two signs — they are what stands on the ground. 🔑 THE SIGN AND THE AUTHORITY'S OWN WORDS AGREE HERE, WHICH IS WORTH STATING BECAUSE THEY DO NOT ALWAYS. The sentence says «απαγόρευση εισόδου οχημάτων» and the sign it orders is Ρ-7, which ν.
5209/2025 article 7 §3 ζ) defines as «Απαγορεύεται η είσοδος σε όλα τα οχήματα» — no entry for all vehicles. The act's prose merely leaves out the word «όλα». 🚫 Do not read a residents' or frontage-access exemption into that: Ρ-7 has none of its own, unlike the Ρ-55 pedestrian-street sign most Greek towns in this corpus use, and this act prints no supplementary plate at all.
Penalty €150.00
Κίσσαμος — the town the act calls Καστέλι — sits at the north-west corner of Crete, an hour west of Chania and the ferry port for Kythira and the Peloponnese. One of its streets becomes a pedestrian street every summer evening. From 1 June to 30 September, every day, between six in the evening and midnight, no vehicle of any kind may use οδός Αναγνώστου Σκαλίδη.
The measure is decision 122/2015 of the municipal council of Δήμος Κισσάμου, approved by the acting Γενικός Γραμματέας of the Αποκεντρωμένη Διοίκηση Κρήτης at Ηράκλειο on 19 May 2016 and gazetted the following June. 🔑 THIS IS THE CLEANEST GREEK CLOSURE IN THIS CORPUS, AND THAT IS WORTH SAYING PLAINLY.
Its operative part is one sentence and it settles in that sentence every question the corpus's other Greek acts leave open. It names the street — most of them do not. It writes «για κάθε έτος», of each year, so the annual return is a quotation and not a reading.
And it says what the street becomes: «ώστε αυτή να λειτουργεί ως πεζόδρομος» — so that it functions as a pedestrian street. 🔑 THAT LAST CLAUSE IS ALSO WHAT PRICES IT. The Greek Highway Code has no tariff for disobeying a municipal closure as such; what it has is a tariff for driving on a πεζόδρομος.
Most acts in this set never use the noun, and this corpus has had to reason its way to it — or, on the Φιλιάτες page, to publish no figure at all. Here the authority writes the word itself. ⚠️ ONE NUMBER IN THIS ACT IS NOT A FINE, AND IT LOOKS LIKE ONE.
The eighteenth recital records «δαπάνη διακοσίων πενήντα ευρώ (250 €)» — a cost of two hundred and fifty euro, met from the municipality's own budget under account 30-7135.003. That is what the signs cost the council. It is not what anything costs a driver. 🚫 And no drawing is published.
The act approves signing «σύμφωνα με τα προβλεπόμενα στην τεχνική έκθεση και τα σχέδια που έχουν προσκομιστεί» — according to the technical report and the plans that have been submitted — and neither is in the gazette. Measured on 2026-09-28: the eight-page issue contains no image object at all.
Penalty €350.00
Kozani is the capital of Greek West Macedonia and the town most drivers cross rather than aim for — it sits where the Egnatia Odos motorway meets the road down to Larisa and the road up to Kastoria, and its centre is Plateia Lassani.
In March 2021 the Αποκεντρωμένη Διοίκηση Ηπείρου - Δυτικής Μακεδονίας gazetted the permanent traffic scheme that came with the square's rebuilding, and two of its measures are bans rather than street furniture. 🔑 The section of Ermou along the western side of the square, between Kontorousi and Takiatzidon, is a pedestrian street.
And Ierolochiton is a pedestrian street too, with a second and separate restriction on top of it: through traffic towards Olympou is banned, Polyzouli is the single entry and exit point, and the only vehicles excepted are emergency vehicles — «εκτός των οχημάτων έκτακτου ανάγκης». ⚠️ Everything else the act does is a change to how the surrounding streets work rather than a prohibition on entering them, and a driver should not read the list as a closed centre.
Four streets around the square are redesignated «οδός ήπιας κυκλοφορίας», a traffic-calmed road, and stay open: the northern section of Ermou between Kontorousi and E. Venizelou, the section of Olympou along the eastern side between Archelaou and Athinas, Athinas, and Kontorousi between Lioufi and Ermou. Athinas also becomes one-way, from Polyzouli towards Lioufi.
The act bans parking on most of the perimeter and moves the town bus stop off the pedestrianised part of Ermou to Eptanisou, on the southern side of the square. 🔑 There is no season, no clock, no charge and no permit anywhere in this scheme.
It is a permanent change to what two streets are, not a timed closure, and the act creates nothing a visitor could buy or apply for. ⚠️ The one thing the gazette does not give is the date it started.
The measures were approved in 2021 as part of the «Ανάπλαση πλατείας Λασσάνη και πέριξ οδών» project; the works themselves were gazetted separately in June 2023 with a twenty-four month execution window, and no act in this series says on what day the permanent arrangement replaced the works arrangement. 🔑 Kozani has a second permanent scheme of the same shape, at a different square, gazetted on 11 June 2026 for the block Ο.Τ.
597: it pedestrianises a section of Sperchiou and a section of Acheloou and makes Modi, Alfeiou and Acheloou one-way. It is a separate decision about a separate place and no rule on this page comes from it; it is named here so that this page is not read as the whole of Kozani.
Penalty €350.00
Kozani has two permanent pedestrianisation schemes, and this is the second one — a different square, a different decision, five years later. The square has no name: the act identifies it only by its town-plan block, «πλατεία στο Ο.Τ. 597», and it sits in the grid east of the centre, ringed by Modi on the west, Alfeiou on the north, Acheloou on the east and Sperchiou on the south.
On 11 June 2026 the Αποκεντρωμένη Διοίκηση Ηπείρου - Δυτικής Μακεδονίας gazetted decision 98/2026 of the Δημοτικό Συμβούλιο Κοζάνης under article 55 of the Highway Code, and two of its items are closures rather than street furniture. 🔑 The section of Sperchiou along the southern side of the square, between Modi and Acheloou, becomes a pedestrian street; so does the section of Acheloou along the eastern side, between Sperchiou and Alfeiou. ⚠️ Everything else the act does leaves the street open.
Six one-way orders are made — two on Modi, two on Alfeiou, one on Acheloou and one on Askiou — the pavements are widened on Modi, Acheloou and Alfeiou, and parking is banned on Modi and Alfeiou. A driver must not read the block as closed. 🚨 Two things in this act decide whether the two closures are on the ground, and the act states both rather than settling either.
First, the publisher frames the pedestrianisation from the signage side: the words are «Η σήμανση για την υλοποίηση της πεζοδρόμησης», the signing for the implementation of the pedestrianisation, and article 14 §2 of the Code lets that signing be installed only after a further application study which the municipality's supervising service has to approve.
Second, the tenth condition says that where a pedestrian street was not provided for in the town plan from the start, the measure «ισχύουν και έχουν εφαρμογή μετά την ολοκλήρωση της διαδικασίας τροποποίησης του ρυμοτομικού σχεδίου» — it takes effect only after the town-plan amendment is completed.
And the act's own preamble says Modi and Sperchiou «δεν είναι διανοιγμένες», are not laid out yet. 🔑 Acheloou is the exception and the act says so in a parenthesis: clause Α)7 widens «της οδού Αχελώου (πεζόδρομος)» to 4.6 m, calling it a pedestrian street in the present tense, so that one is a street that already is what the scheme confirms.
There is no season, no clock, no charge and no permit anywhere in this scheme, and nothing here can be bought or applied for. 🔑 This is not Plateia Lassani. Kozani's central square, about 600 m west, has its own permanent scheme from 2021 and its own page; nothing on this page describes Ermou or Ierolochiton, and nothing on that one describes these streets.
Penalty €350.00
Mandraki is a village on Nisyros, a small island in the Dodecanese, and for six months of the year motor vehicles may not enter it at all. The act's own plan is titled for «Μανδράκι και Πάλους της Νισύρου» and its parking measures sign a harbour inside the village, «Στο λιμάνι (Π1)»; the municipality that made the decision is Δήμος Νισύρου, and the certifying services the act cites are the Dodecanese ones.
On 25 April 2018 the Αποκεντρωμένη Διοίκηση Αιγαίου gazetted its approval of Nisyros council decision 92/2017, and the first of its operative measures is this one: «Απαγόρευση εισόδου σε μηχανοκίνητα οχήματα εντός του οικισμού του Μανδρακίου για τη χρονική περίοδο από 1η Μαΐου μέχρι και 31 Οκτωβρίου κάθε έτους καθώς και την περίοδο από Σάββατο του Λαζάρου μέχρι και Κυριακή του Θωμά κάθε έτους, εκτός του ωραρίου τροφοδοσίας, με τοποθέτηση κατακόρυφης πινακίδας σήμανσης (Ρ-19)».
No entry for motor vehicles, all day, from 1 May to 31 October — and again over the Orthodox Easter period, which moves. 🚨 THE ACT SHUTS THE ONE DOOR THIS CORPUS USUALLY HAS TO LEAVE OPEN: «ΟΙ ΠΕΡΙΟΡΙΣΜΟΙ ΤΗΣ ΚΥΚΛΟΦΟΡΙΑΣ ΙΣΧΥΟΥΝ ΚΑΙ ΓΙΑ ΤΑ ΟΧΗΜΑΤΑ ΠΟΥ ΠΑΡΚΑΡΟΥΝ ΣΕ ΙΔΙΩΤΙΚΟΥΣ ΧΩΡΟΥΣ ΕΝΤΟΣ ΤΟΥ ΟΙΚΙΣΜΟΥ.» In most Greek closures a reader has to be warned not to assume they may drive to their own gate.
Here the publisher says it in its own sentence: having a parking space of your own inside the village does not buy you a way in. 🔑 That is the same conclusion this corpus reached for Pythagoreio by reading the Highway Code, reached here by reading the municipality. 🔑 THE SIGN IS Ρ-19, AND THE TWO PLATES UNDER IT ARE NOT AN EXEMPTION.
The act orders «κατακόρυφης πινακίδας σήμανσης (Ρ-19) και δυο πρόσθετων πινακίδων αναγραφής της χρονικής περιόδου» — two supplementary plates that print the SEASON, not a class of vehicle allowed through. Measured on ν. 5209/2025 on 2026-09-27, article 7 §3 defines «ιθ) Ρ-19: Απαγορεύεται η είσοδος σε μηχανοκίνητα οχήματα», with no carve-out written into the sign.
So the only thing outside this ban is the delivery timetable the act names and never prints.
Penalty €150.00
Mithymna — the town almost every visitor to Lesbos knows as Molyvos, the one with the Genoese castle above the cobbled lanes and the harbour below — closes three separate areas to traffic for four months of the summer, and they close on three different clocks.
From 1 June to 30 September: the **traditional market** from 11:00 in the morning until 02:00 at night; the **central road, Μιχαήλ Γούτου**, from 19:00 until 02:00; and the **harbour**, «για όλο το 24ωρο» — around the clock, for the whole season.
The rule is clause Β) of a decision of the Αποκεντρωμένη Διοίκηση Αιγαίου, signed at Piraeus on 18 July 2025 and gazetted on 28 July 2025, approving decision 91/2025 of the municipal council of Δήμος Δυτικής Λέσβου. 🔑 The harbour clause is the one to read twice.
It is not an evening restriction with a generous window; it is a four-month closure with no hours at all, and the act says so in words rather than by leaving the clock blank.
If you are driving to Molyvos in summer expecting to park on the quay, you cannot. 🔑 This gazette item carries three settlements of one municipality — Mithymna, Skala Kallonis and Vasilika — each its own record here. ⚠️ Two other things under the same clause are street furniture and are deliberately not part of this record: five bus bays, a set of Ρ-40 parking bans, a motorcycle bay and three disabled-parking places.
Penalty €350.00
Mytilene — the harbour town that ferries from Piraeus and from Ayvalık arrive at, and the place most visitors to Lesvos land — closes its historic centre to vehicles for eleven months of the year, and the number that matters to a driver is the one month that is left.
The gazette calls the scheme an «ετήσια περιοδική πεζοδρόμηση», an annual periodic pedestrianisation, and when it was first approved in June 2024 that meant a seven-month season from 15 April to 15 November. A second amendment, gazetted on 14 May 2025, replaced the season with a window running from 10 February each year to 10 January of the next one.
So the closed streets below are closed all day and every day, and the only stretch of the calendar in which they are ordinary roads is 11 January to 9 February. 🔑 What closes is a connected block behind the waterfront, plus the street that runs through the middle of it.
Sections of Ermou are banned to vehicles around the clock from Kornarou, at Epano Skala, down to Agiou Therapontos — with two short lengths deliberately left open in both directions so that residents can reach their doors, Mitropoleos to Pergamou and Adramytiou to Simantiri.
Eight more streets are closed around the clock for the whole season: Methodiou over its full length, Chrysostomou Smyrnis in two lengths, Ioakeim G΄, Palaion Patron Germanou over its full length, L. Voutsika, Limnou and Komninaki.
Athanasiou Mitrelia and Ladadika were originally closed only at night — the ban ran 20:00 to 06:00 — and the 2025 amendment closed them around the clock as well, ordering the removal of the extra signs at the Ikarias junction that had carried the old hours.
A separate closure surrounds the Chatzidimou Park, where circulation is anticlockwise and Komninaki from Skra to the park is banned to vehicles. ⚠️ A visitor is not in any of the categories allowed in.
The decision admits shop supply vehicles between 05:00 and 10:00, refuse and street-cleaning vehicles, municipal service vehicles, ambulances, fire engines and police, and any vehicle holding a special transit permit issued by the Δήμος Μυτιλήνης. Around the Chatzidimou Park a second and narrower exemption exists for residents of that area and guests of the hotel there who hold a transit card.
There is no tourist permit, no day pass and no tariff of any kind anywhere in either decision. 🔑 Three times a year the ban on Ermou lifts for a few hours and the whole street legally carries traffic: 25 March and 28 October from 11:00 to 14:00, and 8 November from 08:00 to 14:00.
Those are Greece's two national holidays and the anniversary Lesvos keeps for itself, and the exemption exists for the parades rather than for drivers.

Nafplio is the first capital of modern Greece and one of the country's most walked towns, and on 24 July 2026 the Αποκεντρωμένη Διοίκηση Πελοποννήσου, Δυτικής Ελλάδας και Ιονίου gazetted a decision that puts no-entry signs on four groups of its pedestrian streets. 🔑 The act approves «η τοποθέτηση ρυθμιστικών πινακίδων Ρ-55» — regulatory sign Ρ-55 — at four named places: the municipal road between town-plan blocks Ο.Τ.
70 and Ο.Τ. 64 in front of the 1st Gymnasium, running from Skoumpi street to the Nafplio–N. Kiou coast road, together with the pedestrian street crossing it as far as Oiakos; Averof street in front of the church of Agia Triada between Gen.
Kolokotroni and Giannopoulou, and Averof again between Papakostopoulou and Ach. Paraschou at Plateia Ethnosynelefseos, both in the Pronia district; the pedestrian streets running off Palamidiou street; and the municipal streets Praxitelous, Lykourgou and Solonos, also in Pronia. 🔑 Ρ-55 is not a mild sign.
The Highway Code defines it as «Οδός υποχρεωτικής διέλευσης πεζών (πεζόδρομος, απαγορευμένης της διέλευσης άλλων εκτός πεζών, οχημάτων άμεσης ανάγκης και οχημάτων για την είσοδο - έξοδο σε παρόδιες ιδιοκτησίες)» — a road for the compulsory passage of pedestrians, with everything else barred except emergency vehicles and vehicles going in and out of frontage properties.
The exceptions are the Code's, not the municipality's, and they are the only ones. 🚨 And the act says plainly when it starts, which is the most unusual thing about it: «Τα μέτρα που λαμβάνονται σύμφωνα με την παρούσα, ισχύουν από την τοποθέτηση της προβλεπόμενης κατακόρυφης και οριζόντιας σήμανσης» — the measures apply from the moment the signs go up. Not from publication, not from a date.
So `effective_from` is null here because the act refuses to give a date, not because this project failed to find one, and the sign on the street is the authority. ⚠️ Read this page for what it is: this act does not create Nafplio's pedestrian streets, it signs four groups of them.
The streets were designated by council decision 115/30.05.2025, «την έγκριση του κανονισμού όλων των χαρακτηρισμών πεζόδρομων εντός των διοικητικών ορίων του Δήμου Ναυπλιέων», which is not in the gazette and which this project has not read — the municipality's own site answered a Cloudflare challenge on 2026-09-24 and we do not work around one. 🚫 So the famous Old Town below the Palamidi is not described here.
Nothing on this page says which of its lanes are pedestrian streets, and a driver should not read four signed places as the whole map of a town that has many more. There is no season, no clock, no charge and no permit anywhere in this act.

Nestorio is a mountain village in the Kastoria regional unit of Western Macedonia, and the road that climbs from its school past the town hall to the upper square is closed to cars. Not to lorries — to cars. 🚨 THIS IS THE ONLY RESTRICTION IN THIS CORPUS THAT RUNS THE OTHER WAY.
Everywhere else a town bars the heavy vehicle and lets the private car through; here the municipality barred the private car and kept the road for buses and lorries.
The measure is the first operative item of the act: «Η τοποθέτηση τριπλής πινακίδας στη συμβολή του άξονα 1 με την πλατεία: Ρ-9 (απαγόρευση εισόδου σε μηχανοκίνητα οχήματα), Πρ-16θ (επιτρέπονται μόνο λεωφορεία) και Πρ-16ι (επιτρέπονται μόνο φορτηγά)». Άξονας 1 is named in the act by the buildings along it rather than by a street name — «τμήμα οδού AB (δρόμος Γυμνάσιο - Δημαρχείο - Πλατεία)», the Gymnasium–Town Hall–Square road — and the same item puts Ρ-28 and Ρ-27 turn bans on its side streets «προκειμένου να υπάρχει υποχρεωτική πορεία των οχημάτων προς την πλατεία του Άνω Νεστορίου», so that traffic is funnelled towards the square. 🔑 THE AUTHORITY SAYS WHY, AND IT SAID IT WHILE REFUSING AN EARLIER VERSION OF THE SAME SIGN.
Six months before this act, ΦΕΚ Β' 1442/23.05.2016 gave Nestorio a PARTIAL approval and set this very sign aside, because the council had asked for a one-way that applied only to private cars while buses and lorries kept both directions: «υπάρχει αδυναμία διασταύρωσης IX με λεωφορείο και φορτηγό, κατά συνέπεια η προτεινόμενη ρύθμιση δεν επιλύει το πρόβλημα καθώς δεν αποκλείει τέτοιου είδους διασταυρώσεις» — a car and a bus cannot pass each other on this road, and a scheme that still lets them meet does not fix it.
The corrected scheme, approved here, drops the one-way and bars the car outright. That is the whole logic of the zone, in the publisher's words rather than this project's.
Penalty €150.00
Νικειά is a village on Nisyros, a small island in the Dodecanese, and for six months of the year one class of vehicle may not enter it.
One signpost carries it here, at a position the act fixes in ΕΓΣΑ 87 coordinates, and two supplementary plates on the same post print the periods.
In the first measure of this very act it ordered Ρ-19, which bars every motor vehicle, for the village of Μανδράκι. Here it ordered Ρ-12 and nothing else. 🚫 Do not read this page as a general closure: a car, a van and a 125 cc motorcycle are all outside it.
Penalty €150.00
Papagou is a quiet residential municipality on the western slope of Mount Hymettus, about 8 km from the centre of Athens, and from 1 May to 31 October of every year it closes one short stretch of one street beside a square. The street is **οδός Λοχαγού Γεωργ. Παπαλαμπρίδη**, and the closed part runs from the pedestrian crossing at the entrance of **Πλατεία Αγ.
Γεωργίου** down to **οδός Γ. Καρναβία**. Inside the season the clock has two halves: **weekends and public holidays are closed around the clock**, and **weekdays are closed from 17:00 until 06:00 the next morning**.
The reason the act gives is the square itself — the playground, the church of Άγ. Γεώργιος and the children who cross to them. 🔑 **The closure is deliberately not the whole street.** The act says so in as many words: there are parking spaces at the top end used by visitors to the square, «και για αυτό τον λόγο δεν καθορίζεται ο αποκλεισμός των οχημάτων σε όλο το μήκος της οδού».
Outside the closed hours the same stretch is not an ordinary street either — the same act makes it a 20 km/h «οδός ήπιας κυκλοφορίας» and one-way from Γρ. Μιχαήλ towards Γ.
Καρναβία. 🚨 **This gazette item does many other things, and none of them is a closure**: one-way conversions, priority assignments at dozens of junctions, new pedestrian crossings, speed limits on οδός Αναστάσεως, and two parking bans in the neighbouring Δ.Ε. Χολαργού.
Those are street furniture and are deliberately outside this record — a page that merged them would tell you a street is shut when it is open. 🔑 One structural thing marks this act out from every other Greek entry in this corpus: **the municipality published it itself.** It is signed at Χολαργός by the president of the municipal council, not by a Secretary of a Decentralized Administration, because the Decentralized Administration of Attica approved it by expiry rather than by decision — a «διαπιστωτική πράξη … περί τεκμαιρόμενης έγκρισης», a declaratory act recording a deemed approval.

Patras is the largest city of the north-western Peloponnese and the Greek end of the ferry crossing from Italy, so a great many drivers meet it with a car they have just landed.
Its old core, the grid climbing from the waterfront towards the castle, has been designated «παραδοσιακό» — traditional — since a presidential decree of 25 April 1996, and on 1 July 2022 a second presidential decree turned seven pieces of that core into pedestrian streets. 🔑 This record was the first of its kind in this corpus, and the difference is worth understanding before you read the rest — it is now shared with one other Greek page, Alexandroupoli, and with no third.
Most Greek pages here rest on a traffic-regulation act: a municipal council decides, a decentralised administration approves, and the measure takes effect when the signs go up. This one rests on a town-planning decree signed by the President of the Republic on the proposal of the Minister of Culture and Sports and the Deputy Minister of Environment and Energy, after an opinion of the Council of State.
It does not order signs.
It changes what these streets legally are, in the city's own approved plan, and the Highway Code then does the prohibiting. 🔑 The six streets it names: οδός Σισίνη for its whole length from Palaion Patron Germanou to the north perimeter road of Ypsila Alonia square; the stretch of οδός Μαιζώνος between Aratou and Gounari; the north branch of οδός Τριών Ναυάρχων between Agiou Andreou and Othonos Amalias; the stretch of οδός Παντοκράτορος between 25is Martiou and Ileias, together with the streets ringing the western side of Pantokratoros square; the stretch of οδός Σωτηριάδου between Mitropoliti Neofytou and Eisodion; and οδός Εισοδίων.
A seventh item is an unnamed lane west of the Church of Pantokratoras, which the decree locates but does not name. 🚨 Read the timing honestly. Article 2 of the decree says its force begins on publication in the government gazette, with no condition attached — that is a real commencement date, 1 July 2022, and it is firmer than the sign-dependent commencement the rest of this corpus's Greek set carries.
But more than four years have passed, this project holds nothing that says whether the works were built or how the streets are signed today, and a plan designation and a kerb are not the same object. The decree is the authority for what these streets are; the sign on the street is what you will actually be looking at.

Piraeus is the other half of the same Attica decision that governs Athens, and it is not a variant of it — it asks a different question about a different measurement on a named list of streets rather than across a municipality. Fourteen central avenues and streets of Piraeus, the waterfront ones among them, carry two rules, both aimed at goods vehicles whose USEFUL LOAD exceeds 1.5 tonnes.
The first is a supply timetable: on those streets such a vehicle may load and unload round the clock except between 07:00 and 10:30. The second is a circulation restriction, which is the stricter of the two and the one a driver is likelier to meet by accident: on those same streets a goods vehicle over 1.5 tonnes useful load is restricted from 07:00 to 11:00 and again from 14:30 to 16:00.
Nothing is charged, nothing is bought, and no exhaust class is mentioned anywhere — this scheme sorts vehicles by what they can carry and by the clock, and a Euro 6 lorry and a twenty-year-old one are the same vehicle to it. A car is never in it at any hour.
The exemptions that run through the whole instrument apply here too, and one of them is about the vehicle rather than the errand: a purely electric vehicle of up to 2.5 tonnes gross is outside the restrictions. The decision is open-ended — it runs from publication until a newer decision is issued — and two supplements in 2025 amended it without replacing it, neither of them touching Piraeus.
Penalty €150.00
Πλατανιάς is a small beach settlement at the southern tip of Pelion, at the end of the road down from Προμύρι — the far end of the peninsula from Volos, and a very long way from the Πλατανιάς most visitors have heard of, which is in Crete. For two months of the year its shore road stops being a road in the evening.
From 1 July to 31 August, between 21:00 and midnight, the coastal road is a pedestrian street: «Η περιοδική πεζοδρόμηση της παραλιακής οδού στα τμήματα εκατέρωθεν της Επαρχιακής οδού τους θερινούς μήνες Ιούλιο- Αύγουστο για το χρονικό διάστημα 21:00 έως 24:00 μ.μ.».
The measure is decision 106/2026 of the municipal council of Δήμος Νοτίου Πηλίου, approved by the Γραμματέας of the Αποκεντρωμένη Διοίκηση Θεσσαλίας - Στερεάς Ελλάδας at Λάρισα on 25 August 2026 and gazetted three days later. 🔑 The sign is the thing to know, because it carries the exemptions the act itself never lists.
The order is for Ρ-55 signs, and the Greek Highway Code defines Ρ-55 as a pedestrian street «απαγορευμένης της διέλευσης άλλων εκτός πεζών, οχημάτων άμεσης ανάγκης και οχημάτων για την είσοδο - έξοδο σε παρόδιες ιδιοκτησίες» — closed to everything except pedestrians, emergency vehicles, and vehicles going in or out of a property on the street.
If you have a room on the shore road you may still reach it; a passing car has no business there after nine. 🚨 And the price of getting that wrong is the strangest number this corpus has published.
Measured on the Code today: a Ρ-55 breach is category Ε1-Α, which is a thirty-euro fine — the smallest in the whole tariff — and it is *also* category Σ, antisocial road behaviour, which adds forty days without a driving licence. Thirty euros and forty days. The same corpus's Karpathos closure, which uses the no-entry sign Ρ-7 instead, costs €150 and twenty days.
The cheaper ticket is the one that takes your licence for twice as long. ⚠️ Two things this record cannot tell you, and says so rather than filling in. The act does not name the coastal road, does not number the Επαρχιακή οδός, and does not publish the study and drawings that would say where the two sections begin and end.
And it does not write «κάθε έτους», «of each year», where its Thira and Karpathos counterparts do — so the season is treated as annual here for the reasons set out in the timetable on this page, not because the act says it. 🔑 The same gazette issue carries a second act of the same municipality for the neighbouring settlement of Άγιος Γεώργιος, and that one is deliberately not a page here: it is a no-stopping and no-parking order on the open ground by the church, sign Ρ-40, which is a parking rule and not a driving restriction.
Penalty €350.00
Psathopyrgos is a coastal village on the south shore of the Gulf of Corinth, on the Δ.Ε. Ρίου side of Δήμος Πατρέων, east of the Rio–Antirrio bridge and some 16 km from the city centre — the coastal strip a driver passes on the old national road between Patras and Aigio.
On 6 August 2026 the Decentralised Administration of the Peloponnese, Western Greece and the Ionian approved two council decisions — 100/05.05.2025 of the Patras municipal council and 22/04.05.2026 of the Western Greece regional council — and among the traffic measures they contain are three pedestrian streets in the settlement of Κάτω Ροδινή inside that community. 🔑 The three, in the act's own words, are each «Καθορισμός της οδού ως πεζόδρομου στο τμήμα της βορείως της οδού Οδυσσέα Ελύτη» — designation of the street as a pedestrian street in the part of it north of οδός Οδυσσέα Ελύτη — and they are οδός Κωστή Παλαμά (item 1 ii), οδός Σεφέρη (item 2 ii) and οδός Περικλέους (item 5). ⚠️ Note what the act gives and what it does not: each designation has a southern limit and no northern one.
Κάτω Ροδινή sits on the south shore of the Gulf of Corinth, so «north of Οδυσσέα Ελύτη» is the seaward side, but how far each section runs before it ends is not written down anywhere this project can read. 🔑 What makes this act unusually solid for a Greek pedestrianisation is the sentence the publisher adds after the operative list: «Τα οδικά τμήματα των οδών που καθορίζονται ως πεζόδρομοι, προβλέπονται ως πεζόδρομοι στην ανωτέρω Πολεοδομική Μελέτη» — the road sections designated as pedestrian streets are provided for as pedestrian streets in the town-planning study, the 1991 extension of the street plan approved by decision Χ.15790/05.06.1991 of the Prefect of Achaea (ΦΕΚ Δ' 420).
This corpus has recorded the opposite case twice.
At Xanthi the same kind of authority spelled the doctrine out — a Highway Code order is a traffic measure «και όχι πολεοδομικές ρυθμίσεις», and a street can be treated as a pedestrian street only once the plan says it is one — and at Alexandroupoli it acted on it, refusing one item of a council decision outright because it «δεν εγκρίνεται με την διαδικασία του άρθρου 52 παρ. 1» of the Code.
Here the plan does designate the sections, and the publisher says so in its own sentence. 🚨 Three limits, all of them the publishers' rather than this project's. The measures commence «από την τοποθέτηση της προβλεπόμενης κατακόρυφης και οριζόντιας σήμανσης» — when the vertical and horizontal signing goes in — and nobody has published the day that happened, so `effective_from` is null.
The terms of access are in a «Κανονισμός Λειτουργίας» that is an inseparable part of the municipality's technical traffic study of 9 April 2025, which no publisher has put online, so what a resident or a delivery van may do comes from the Highway Code and not from this act. And the settlement's own name is misspelled in all four places the gazette prints it.
Penalty €350.00
Pyrgi is the best known of the Chios mastic villages — the medieval one whose house fronts are covered in black-and-white «ξυστά» scraped plaster — and in October 2024 the Αποκεντρωμένη Διοίκηση Αιγαίου gazetted one vehicle prohibition for it. 🔑 It is a small rule stated exactly: entry is banned for ALL vehicles into a side lane in the Κάτω Παναγιά part of the village, and it is carried by two positions signed Ρ-7.
That is the whole of the scheme. There is no season, no clock, no charge, no permit and no exception written anywhere in the act. 🚨 And what the act calls it is the whole of why this page reads differently from the other Greek ones.
Every other street closure in this corpus's Greek set rests on an act that uses the word «πεζοδρόμηση» — a street turned into a pedestrian street, signed Ρ-55, a sign whose own definition in the Highway Code admits pedestrians, emergency vehicles and vehicles going in and out of parking on properties that front it. 🚫 This act never uses that word, and Ρ-7 admits nobody: article 7 §3 ζ) of the Code defines it in six words — «Απαγορεύεται η είσοδος σε όλα τα οχήματα», entry is prohibited for all vehicles — and attaches no exception to it at all.
So a visitor whose accommodation is up that lane cannot lean on the pedestrian-street carve-out, because this is not a pedestrian street. 🔑 That also makes the penalty unusually settled.
At Sifnos the act says «περιοδική πεζοδρόμηση» about two villages it then signs Ρ-7, and that record has to publish both readings because the word points at €350 and the sign at €150; at Mytilene the word and the sign disagree the same way.
Here the word and the sign say the same thing, so the answer is the sign's: €150 and twenty days' withdrawal of the driving licence, with no competing reading to publish alongside it. ⚠️ The honest limit of this page is that the act does not name the lane. It identifies the place by area — Κάτω Παναγιά — and by two ΕΓΣΑ 87 grid references about 47 m apart, which it calls «ενδεικτικές», indicative.
There is no street name, no map and no boundary anywhere in the gazette, so this record can tell you the rule and where in the village to expect it, and then you must read the sign. ⚠️ And the operative sentence of the decision is not in the extractable text of the gazette PDF: the page it sits on is set in a subset font with no usable character map, so it is quoted below in the publisher's own search index — lower-cased and stripped of accents, which is not how the gazette spells it. 🔑 Nothing else in Pyrgi is covered here.
This act regulates one lane; the searches this project ran found no second traffic act for the village and no amendment to this one, and a narrow village street that a car cannot physically take is not a gazetted prohibition.
Penalty €150.00
Pythagoreio is the harbour town on the south-east coast of Samos, below the airport, and for five months of the year the streets that run down to its quay are closed to traffic for eighteen hours a day.
On 8 November 2019 the Αποκεντρωμένη Διοίκηση Αιγαίου gazetted its approval of Samos town council decision 131/2019, and the first of its four operative items is this one: «Την απαγόρευση εισόδου σε όλα τα οχήματα, μόνο για την θερινή περίοδο 1/5 έως 30/9 κάθε έτους (από τις 12:00 το μεσημέρι έως τις 06:00 το πρωί), στο τελευταίο μόνο τμήμα προς το λιμάνι, στις οδούς Δεσπότη Κυρίλλου, Ιατρού Θέμελη, Αιγαίου Πελάγους, Αγίου Νικολάου, Ήρας, πάροδος Αισώπου και Μέλισσου» — no entry for all vehicles, from midday to six in the morning, from 1 May to 30 September, on the final stretch towards the harbour of seven named streets. 🔑 THE SIGN IS Ρ-7 WITH A TAXI PLATE UNDER IT, AND THAT IS NOT THE ARRANGEMENT MOST GREEK CLOSURES IN THIS CORPUS USE.
The act names the plates it orders: «με τοποθέτηση ρυθμιστικών πινακίδων (Ρ-7) και πρόσθετων (Πρ-18α)». Measured on ν. 5209/2025 on 2026-09-27, article 7 §3 defines «ζ) Ρ-7: Απαγορεύεται η είσοδος σε όλα τα οχήματα» and article 7 §5 «κστ) Πρ-18α: Επιτρέπεται μόνο για τα «TAXI»».
So the exemption the publisher granted is a taxi exemption, and it is the only one printed. 🚨 A Ρ-7 CLOSURE IS NOT A ΠΕΖΟΔΡΟΜΟΣ, AND THE DIFFERENCE COSTS A RESIDENT THEIR OWN DRIVEWAY.
Most Greek records in this corpus are pedestrianisations signed Ρ-55, and the Highway Code writes the exemptions into the sign itself: «Ρ-55: Οδός υποχρεωτικής διέλευσης πεζών (πεζόδρομος, απαγορευμένης της διέλευσης άλλων εκτός πεζών, οχημάτων άμεσης ανάγκης και οχημάτων για την είσοδο - έξοδο σε παρόδιες ιδιοκτησίες)» — emergency vehicles and frontage access are admitted by the sign's own definition.
Ρ-7 carries no such carve-out. 🚫 Do not read a frontage-property or resident exemption into this record because the corpus's other Greek pages have one; this act prints a taxi plate and nothing else.

For two months of every summer, heavy vehicles are barred from the centre of Apollonia, the capital of the Cycladic island of Sifnos.
The rule is one clause of a decision gazetted on 13 July 2026: «την απαγόρευση της διέλευσης οχημάτων βαρέως τύπου, άνω των 3,5 τόνων από το κέντρο της Απολλωνίας Δήμου Σίφνου, από 1η Ιουλίου έως και 31 Αυγούστου για κάθε έτος» — a ban on the passage of heavy vehicles, over 3.5 tonnes, from the centre of Apollonia, from 1 July to 31 August every year.
One sign is ordered, at the Greek national grid point 563832 4091983, and its code is Ρ-24. 🔑 This is a different question from the pedestrian closures on the same island and in the same act, which is why it is a separate record: there, the question is where you are driving; here it is what you are driving. A car is never in this scheme at any hour of any day.
What is in it is a motorhome above 3.5 tonnes, a hired Luton van, a horsebox, a builder's tipper — and on a small island in high summer, the traffic this is plainly aimed at is delivery and construction. 🚨 There is a contradiction between the act's words and the sign it orders, and it matters to anyone near the threshold. The act says «άνω των 3,5 τόνων» of a heavy vehicle, which reads naturally as gross weight.
The Highway Code defines Ρ-24 as «Απαγορεύεται η είσοδος σε οχήματα βάρους ανά άξονα που υπερβαίνει τους … τόνους» — vehicles whose weight **per axle** exceeds the stated figure — and gives gross weight its own separate sign, Ρ-23. Three and a half tonnes per axle and three and a half tonnes in total are very different vehicles.
We record what the publisher printed and do not resolve it; a driver at 3.6 tonnes gross on two axles cannot safely assume either reading. ⚠️ As with every closure in this act, the daily hours are not published.
The clause orders the sign «μαζί με τις απαραίτητες πρόσθετες πληροφοριακές πινακίδες για την περίοδο και το ωράριο εφαρμογής», with supplementary plates for the period **and the hours**, and prints only the period. ⚠️ And the act's third condition makes the measure effective «από την τοποθέτηση των οικείων πινακίδων σήμανσης», from the day the signs go up, without saying when that is.

Sifnos is a Cycladic island of about 2 500 people that fills with visitors between spring and autumn, and a decision gazetted on 13 July 2026 closes the middle of six of its villages to vehicles for exactly that part of the year.
It is one act approving seven separate council decisions at once, and the six that matter to a driver are these: the central road inside the traditional settlement of **Artemonas**, closed 1 June to 30 September; the central street called «Στενό» inside the traditional settlement of **Apollonia**, the island's capital, closed 1 April to 30 October; the section of road from the harbour at **Kamares** towards Apollonia, where vehicles are barred over the same 1 April to 30 October; the settlement of **Vathy**, 1 April to 30 October; the central road down to the jetty at **Faros**, 1 April to 30 October; and the central unnamed road inside the traditional settlement of **Katavati**, 1 April to 30 October. 🔑 The Kamares one is the one a visitor meets first and is worth reading twice.
Kamares is where the ferry from Piraeus and from the other Cyclades docks, so a driver coming off a boat between April and October is landing beside a stretch of road that the act closes to vehicles, and the closure is signed Ρ-7 — «Απαγορεύεται η είσοδος σε όλα τα οχήματα», no entry for any vehicle at all. ⚠️ The largest thing this record cannot tell you is what time of day each closure starts and ends, and that is a gap in what the publisher printed rather than a gap in our reading.
Every one of the six clauses orders the vertical sign «μαζί με τις απαραίτητες πρόσθετες πληροφοριακές πινακίδες για την περίοδο και το ωράριο εφαρμογής» — together with the supplementary plates for the period **and the hours** of application — so an ωράριο exists; the gazette simply does not print it.
It applies each closure «σύμφωνα με τα προβλεπόμενα στον ισχύων κανονισμό πεζοδρόμησης», and item 7 of the act's own preamble names that regulation: decision 65/2025 of the Sifnos council, ΑΔΑ 6ΞΖ7Ω1Τ-ΗΝΚ, «Κανονισμός Λειτουργίας Πεζοδρόμησης του Δήμου Σίφνου». That document is not in the gazette, is not on the municipality's website, and lives on Διαύγεια, which is closed to this project by its own robots.txt.
So this page gives you the six places and the six seasons with certainty and refuses to invent the clock. ⚠️ And it cannot tell you the day any of it started either: the act's third condition makes the measures effective «από την τοποθέτηση των οικείων πινακίδων σήμανσης» — from the moment the signs go up — and gives no date for that.

Skala Kallonis is the little port on the gulf in the middle of Lesbos — the one people drive to for the beach, the tavernas on the front and the flamingos in the salt pans — and for five months of the year its centre closes to traffic every evening. From 1 May to 30 September, between 18:00 and 01:00, the section of the central road that leads to the square from the west, the north and the east is a pedestrian street.
The rule is clause Α) of a decision of the Αποκεντρωμένη Διοίκηση Αιγαίου, signed at Piraeus on 18 July 2025 and gazetted on 28 July 2025, approving decision 153/2024 of the municipal council of Δήμος Δυτικής Λέσβου. 🔑 This gazette item is one decision carrying three separate closures in three settlements of the same municipality — Skala Kallonis, Mithymna and Vasilika — each with its own season, its own clock and its own coordinate table, and each published here as its own record. 🔑 Unlike most of the Greek closures in this corpus, the act defines the closed length by naming the sign positions that bound it: «οροθετείται από τις θέσεις των πινακίδων 9,10, 3, 4, 5, 6 και 7», and then prints all eleven positions in the Greek national grid with the sign codes that stand at each.
That is the most complete signing table this project has yet read out of a Greek pedestrianisation.

Skala is a settlement on Kefalonia, in the Δημοτική Ενότητα Ελειού-Πρόννων of Δήμος Αργοστολίου, and the street through the middle of it — the one the municipality's own notices describe in terms of «τα καταστήματα, την εστίαση και τις τοπικές επιχειρήσεις» and «στον κεντρικό ιστό της Σκάλας» — is closed to traffic for the whole tourist season. 🔑 The rule is published in two halves by two publishers, and this page keeps them apart on purpose.
THE APPROVAL is in the gazette: ΦΕΚ Β' 2545/24.05.2022, in which the Αποκεντρωμένη Διοίκηση Πελοποννήσου, Δυτικής Ελλάδας και Ιονίου approves council decision 74/2022 of Δήμος Αργοστολίου for the settlement of Skala and orders, as the first of seven measures, «i. Πεζοδρόμηση της οδού Κωνσταντίνου Τραυλού» — the pedestrianisation of οδός Κωνσταντίνου Τραυλού — and, as the fifth, «v.
Πεζοδρόμηση των αδιέξοδων τμημάτων των οδών Βασιλέως Παύλου και Βασιλέως Κωνσταντίνου», the pedestrianisation of the dead-end sections of Βασιλέως Παύλου and Βασιλέως Κωνσταντίνου.
THE OPERATING TERMS are not in the gazette: the act governs «σύμφωνα με την (25) σχετική εγκεκριμένη κυκλοφοριακή μελέτη και το διάγραμμα που τη συνοδεύει», a traffic study that is not published with it, and it records in its own recitals that a pedestrian-street operating regulation was approved — «Εγκρίθηκε ο Κανονισμός λειτουργίας Πεζοδρόμου σύμφωνα με την (26) σχετική» — naming among its documents council decision 54/2022, which approved «την υπ’ αρ.
18/22 απόφασης Επιτροπής Ποιότητας Ζωής που αφορά τον Κανονισμό λειτουργίας Πεζοδρόμου Σκάλας Αργοστολίου». 🔑 The municipality publishes what that regulation provides, on its own site, at the start of each season.
Its announcement of 29 April 2026 states the period: «Σύμφωνα με τον ισχύοντα κανονισμό, η περίοδος εφαρμογής της πεζοδρόμησης εκτείνεται από 1η Μαΐου έως 31 Οκτωβρίου, σε 24ωρη βάση» — from 1 May to 31 October, on a 24-hour basis — and its announcement of 30 April 2025 states what may move on the street while it is closed: «η κυκλοφορία και η στάθμευση στον πεζόδρομο θα επιτρέπεται μόνο για οχήματα τροφοδοσίας καταστημάτων, τις ώρες από 6 π.μ. έως 12 το μεσημέρι». 🚨 So for six months of the year this is not a night-time or evening closure of the kind most of this corpus's Greek records describe: it is a whole-day closure of the shopping street, with a morning delivery window that admits supply vehicles only. ⚠️ Two things no source this project holds will say.
The regulation itself is unread — but it is no longer unidentified, and the difference matters. On 2026-09-25 the national transparency register's open-data search, which that register's own robots.txt permits, returned both halves of it by name: the Επιτροπή Ποιότητας Ζωής act «Κανονισμός Λειτουργίας Πεζοδρόμου για τον οικισμό Σκάλας Δ.Ε.
Ελειού Πρόννων», ΑΔΑ 9ΖΟ046ΜΓΤΤ-572 of 23 March 2022, classified by the publisher itself as a ΚΑΝΟΝΙΣΤΙΚΗ ΠΡΑΞΗ, and the council decision that approved it, ΑΔΑ 6ΤΕΔ46ΜΓΤΤ-1ΙΒ of 8 April 2022, whose subject is «54/22 ΑΠΟΦΑΣΗ ΔΣ «Έγκριση της αριθ 18/22 απόφασης Επιτροπής Ποιότητας Ζωής που αφορά τον Κανονισμό λειτουργίας Πεζόδρομου Σκάλας.»» — the same 54/2022 and the same 18/22 the gazette's recitals name. 🚫 What the register does not hand over is the text: the document paths themselves are closed in the same robots.txt, so the exact list of permit holders is still taken no further than the municipality's own phrase «η πρόσβαση οχημάτων που διαθέτουν σχετική άδεια».
And the act commences on the placing of the signing, «ισχύουν από την τοποθέτηση των οικείων πινακίδων σήμανσης ή των διαγραμμίσεων στο οδόστρωμα», with no date given anywhere for that placing, which is why `effective_from` is null even though the municipality confirms in 2025 that the signing is up.

Σταυρούπολη is the near north-west of Thessaloniki — a suburb of its own, in its own municipality, about two kilometres from the city's registered centre. Three short stretches of street around πλατεία Ελευθερίας, the square at its heart, are pedestrian streets. Not in the evening, not in summer: permanently, at every hour of every day.
The measure is decision 217/2018 of the municipal council of Δήμος Παύλου Μελά, approved by the Συντονιστής of the Αποκεντρωμένη Διοίκηση Μακεδονίας - Θράκης at Θεσσαλονίκη on 11 January 2019 and gazetted on the 29th.
What it pedestrianises is named street by street and end to end: οδός Ναυάρχου Βότση from οδός Λυσιστράτης to οδός Σίνα, οδός Χάνι Γραβιάς from οδός Ολύμπου to οδός Σίνα, and the stretch of οδός Αντιγόνου from οδός Χάνι Γραβιάς to οδός Ναυάρχου Βότση.
Together, in the approving authority's own words, they are «οι πεζόδρομοι που περικλείουν την πλατεία Ελευθερίας» — the pedestrian streets that enclose the square. 🔑 THIS IS THE FIRST PERMANENT GREEK CLOSURE IN THIS CORPUS THAT CAME OUT OF A TRAFFIC DECISION.
Every other Greek pedestrianisation here is seasonal — a summer evening in Κίσσαμος, spring to autumn in Αρεόπολη — and the one other permanent one, in central Thessaloniki, is a town-planning amendment rather than a traffic act. This act says «μόνιμων μέτρων ρύθμισης της κυκλοφορίας», permanent measures of traffic regulation, and then sets no season, no weekday and no hour at all.
There is no timetable to look up because there is no timetable. 🚨 AND THE MAP DOES NOT CARRY IT. This was measured, not assumed.
Each of the three regulated stretches can be picked out on OpenStreetMap because the act names the streets at both of its ends, and none of the three is mapped as a pedestrian street. The Ναυάρχου Βότση stretch is an ordinary one-way residential road. The Χάνι Γραβιάς stretch is an ordinary one-way residential road with a 20 km/h speed limit — a speed limit is a map's way of saying cars drive here.
The Αντιγόνου stretch is a living street, which permits motor traffic at walking pace and is not the same thing as a pedestrian street. A satnav reading that data will route you through all three. ⚠️ ONE NUMBER IN THIS ACT IS NOT A FINE AND LOOKS EXACTLY LIKE ONE.
The sixteenth recital records that the decision causes «δαπάνη ύψους 55.125,00 €» against the municipality's own 2018 budget under account Κ.Α.30.7336.00. That is what the works cost the council. It is the only sum of money in the document, and it has nothing to do with what a driver pays. 🚫 The rulebook that would tell you who may still drive in is named by this act and cannot be read.
The act makes the operation of its pedestrian streets subject to «τον Κανονισμό λειτουργίας των πεζοδρόμων», the municipality's own pedestrian-street regulation, adopted as the second limb of the same council decision — and that regulation is not in the gazette. The municipality's website is closed to automated readers by its own robots.txt, which this project honours.
So the exemptions exist and this page cannot list them.
Penalty €350.00
Thessaloniki is Greece's second city, the port the Balkans drive down to and the road gateway to Halkidiki, and its whole municipality runs one clock for goods vehicles. 🔑 The act in force is decision 52/2024 of the Metropolitan Committee of the Metropolitan Unit of Thessaloniki, gazetted in ΦΕΚ Β' 6645 on 6 December 2024.
In its own words it applies «Σε όλες τις οδούς του Δήμου Θεσσαλονίκης» — on every street of the municipality — and it permits a goods vehicle of up to 8 tonnes payload to stop at the kerb to load or unload only from 19:00 in the evening until 07:00 the next morning on Monday to Friday, and from 17:00 on Saturday until 07:00 on Monday. Public holidays are free.
Everything else in the scheme is a narrower permission laid on top of that one: lorries up to 3.5 tonnes payload may also work 10:00 to 12:00 Monday to Saturday and lorries up to 1.5 tonnes 10:00 to 14:00, but in both cases «αποκλειστικά και μόνο στις θέσεις φορτοεκφόρτωσης» — in marked loading bays and nowhere else. 🔑 Three errands are exempt around the clock and they are unusually specific: ice and ice cubes up to 3.5 tonnes between 1 April and 30 October, medicines and pharmaceutical supplies up to 1.5 tonnes all year, and purely electric goods vehicles up to 1.5 tonnes all year.
That last one is a propulsion exemption rather than an emission class, and it is the only place in this scheme where what is under the bonnet changes the answer. 🚨 This record replaced a predecessor rather than joining it.
The same committee's decision 57/2018, gazetted in ΦΕΚ Β' 6178 on 31 December 2018, set a different clock — 20:30 to 08:30 on weekdays — and listed twenty-nine named pedestrian streets with loading windows of their own. Paragraph 5 of the 2024 decision repeals «οποιαδήποτε άλλη διάταξη αναφέρεται στην υπ' αρ. 57/2018 (Β' 6178) απόφαση», so the 2018 hours and the 2018 street lists are history and are not encoded here.
They are described below only so that a reader who meets the older act, or an older sign, knows which one this page is about. ⚠️ Nothing here restricts a car. This is a goods-vehicle timetable, and a visitor in a hire car meets it only if they are driving a van on a delivery.
Penalty €150.00
This is a short street in central Thessaloniki that stopped being a street for cars, and it is here because the project could follow the conversion from end to end in the gazette — which is rarer in Greece than it sounds. 🔑 Greek law runs pedestrianisation as an «ενιαία διαδικασία», a single procedure with two halves that are published separately, and both halves of this one exist.
The traffic half is ΦΕΚ Β' 1828 of 26 March 2024, in which the Secretary of the Decentralised Administration of Macedonia and Thrace approved the municipal council's decision «όσον αφορά στον αποκλεισμό της κυκλοφορίας οχημάτων στο τμήμα της Δημοτικής οδού Ασημάκη Φωτήλα, μεταξύ των οδών Κατσάνου και Παπαδιαμαντοπούλου» — the exclusion of vehicle traffic from that stretch — and recorded that the approval covers «μόνο τα μόνιμα μέτρα ρύθμισης της κυκλοφορίας», permanent measures only.
The planning half is ΦΕΚ Δ' 749 of 1 November 2024, in which the Deputy Regional Governor for Infrastructure and Networks of Central Macedonia amended the town plan to designate the same stretch «ως πεζόδρομου», and whose Article 2 fixes force on publication with no condition attached. 🚨 The order matters more than it looks.
The traffic decision suspends itself until the planning one happens: it says in its own words «Οι κυκλοφοριακές ρυθμίσεις της παρούσης ισχύουν με την ολοκλήρωση της διαδικασίας τροποποίησης του ρυμοτομικού σχεδίου του υπό παρέμβαση οδικού τμήματος και εφαρμόζονται με την τοποθέτηση - εγκατάσταση της σχετικής κατακόρυφης - οριζόντιας σήμανσης».
Three other Thessaloniki streets carry the same approval and the same suspending sentence and have no planning act in the gazette, so they are not on this page and are not closed as far as this project can source. 🚨 Two limits belong next to all of that.
The second condition — the signs — cannot be dated from any published act, so what is written here is what the street legally is, not what is standing at the kerb. 🆕 And the municipality's own pedestrian-street regulation — «ΚΑΝΟΝΙΣΜΟΣ ΛΕΙΤΟΥΡΓΙΑΣ ΠΕΖΟΔΡΟΜΩΝ ΔΗΜΟΥ ΘΕΣΣΑΛΟΝΙΚΗΣ», cited by the traffic act and approved by municipal council decision 1712/19-12-2016 — is now held and read.
It is not in the gazette and it never was: the municipality publishes it itself, as a PDF on its own «Κανονιστικές Αποφάσεις» page under the Διεύθυνση Έργων Αναπλάσεων και Συντηρήσεων Δημοσίου Χώρου. So who may drive here by exception is stated below, from the regulation's own Article 4, and is no longer a thing this page has to say it does not know. 🚨 The route to it is worth more than the document.
ΦΕΚ Β' 1828 prints the decision's ΑΔΑ as «7ΣΠΗΩΡ5-ΑΩ3», and that key returns nothing whatever in Διαύγεια; the decision is filed under «7ΣΠΗΩΡ5-Α3Ω», the last two characters the other way round.
Both were put to the register's own open-data search on 2026-09-25 — 0 results and 1 result, the one result being decision 1712/2016 ΑΔΣ of 19 December 2016 of Δήμος Θεσσαλονίκης, «την επανέγκριση του Κανονισμού Λειτουργίας πεζοδρόμων του Δήμου Θεσσαλονίκης». A published lookup key can be wrong, and a zero-result lookup on one is not evidence that the document does not exist.

Santorini has one gazetted evening road closure, and this is it. From 15 May to 15 October of every year, between 17:00 and midnight, a stretch of road through the centre of Megalochori — the inland village between Pyrgos and Akrotiri that tour buses and hire cars stop at for its wineries and its square — is a pedestrian street. The rule is Αριθμ.
23995/MOE of the Αποκεντρωμένη Διοίκηση Αιγαίου, signed at Piraeus on 3 September 2024 and gazetted on 13 September 2024, approving decision 152/2024 of the municipal council of Δήμος Θήρας. 🔑 It matters to a visitor more than a single village street usually would, because Santorini's road network funnels: Megalochori sits on the spine road between Fira and Akrotiri, its centre is narrow, and the closed hours are exactly the hours a driver heads south for the Akrotiri sunset. ⚠️ The municipality is named Θήρα, not Σαντορίνη — the island's tourist name is not the administrative one, and searching for the rule under «Σαντορίνη» finds nothing. 🚨 **One thing about this record has to be said at the top, because it is unusual in this corpus: the sentence that carries the rule cannot be extracted from the gazette PDF at all.** The season, the clock and the words «περιοδική πεζοδρόμηση» sit in a subset font with no /ToUnicode; they were recovered from the National Printing House's own search index, which returns them lower-cased and accent-stripped.
That text is the publisher's, and it is quoted here as content — but it cannot be watched, and the gazette's own typography for it is not reproduced here because it is not recoverable. What IS extractable from the file, and watched, is the title naming Megalochori and Δήμος Θήρας, the two surveyed limits of the pedestrianisation, the nineteen sign positions, the council decision number, the date and the signer.

Vasilika is a village in the south of Lesbos, inland from the Gulf of Kalloni, and for four months of the year its upper market square closes to traffic in the evening — and on Sundays from mid-morning. From 1 June to 30 September the Άνω Αγορά is a pedestrian street from 20:30 until 02:00, and on Sundays from 10:00 until 02:00.
The rule is clause Γ) of a decision of the Αποκεντρωμένη Διοίκηση Αιγαίου, signed at Piraeus on 18 July 2025 and gazetted on 28 July 2025, approving decision 101/2025 of the municipal council of Δήμος Δυτικής Λέσβου. 🔑 The Sunday clause is what makes this record worth having: it is the only Greek closure in this corpus that distinguishes one weekday from the rest, and it does so by opening ten and a half hours earlier.
Every other Greek scheme here names a single window and lets it run every day. ⚠️ Vasilika is a village rather than a resort, and this page does not pretend otherwise — it is here because the act is complete, the extent is signed at eight surveyed points, and a driver crossing southern Lesbos on a Sunday afternoon has no other way to learn that the square is shut. 🔑 This gazette item carries three settlements of one municipality — Vasilika, Skala Kallonis and Mithymna — each its own record here.
