Driving in Rimini: Low emission zone

Rimini, Italy Β· Low emission zone

Partly in force in Rimini right nowTuesday, 13 October 2026 at 11:05 Β· Europe/Rome

  • In force Monday to Friday, 1 October 2026 to 31 March 2027: petrol, methane/petrol and LPG/petrol up to Euro 2; diesel up to Euro 4; mopeds and motorcycles up to Euro 2
  • Not in force The twenty-four ecological Sundays: the weekday list plus diesel Euro 5

Lifts Tuesday, 13 October 2026 at 18:30 local time.

🚨 The end time in both rules is 18:30 only while point 2 is dormant. Point 1.a defers to point 2 in its own words, and point 2 switches on automatically β€” with no further act and no announcement named in the order β€” once a monitoring station in the municipality has recorded twenty-five daily PM10 exceedances during calendar year 2026, at which point both windows above become 08:30 to 19:30. That cannot be put in a timetable because it depends on a running count this project does not hold: the order gives 2025's figure, sixteen exceedances at the viale Flaminia traffic station against a ceiling of thirty-five, and says nothing about 2026. Treat 19:30 as the end time to plan around if you are driving in a cold spell late in the season.

The emergency measures are not in this timetable and cannot be. Arpae issues the bulletin on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays; when it calls for the measures in the province of Rimini the ban runs 08:00–19:00 from the following day until the next control day inclusive, on any day of the week, and reaches diesel Euro 5. Check the bulletin for the day you travel.

Strike days are not in this timetable for the same reason: the order lifts the ban on any day of a local public transport strike, and those are called at short notice.

Saturday carries no rule because the order never names Saturday in its circulation article. That is not the same as an express exemption, and it holds only while the emergency measures are off.

⚠️ This timetable is a clock and a vehicle list. It says nothing about where you are: the SS16 boundary, the four excluded boundary stretches and the two dozen excluded access routes are not encoded here, and a vehicle on the banned list is outside the ban on those roads and inland of the SS16 at every hour in this table.

The order's other measures are outside this timetable because they are not about driving: the heating-season start date of 1 November 2026, the indoor temperature limits of 19Β°C and 17Β°C, the biomass and open-burning rules, the pellet certification duty and the standing ban on idling a parked engine all run on their own periods.

Operating times only, read from the source below. It does not check your vehicle.

What applies

Rimini closes part of the city to older vehicles for the winter half of the year, from 1 October 2026 to 31 March 2027.

Monday to Friday, 08:30 to 18:30, the ban catches petrol cars up to and including Euro 2, methane/petrol and LPG/petrol up to and including Euro 2, diesel cars up to and including Euro 4, and mopeds and motorcycles up to and including Euro 2. 🚨 The zone is not drawn as a perimeter and does not need to be, because the order defines it with one line and the coast: "Zona urbana a mare della Strada Statale 16" β€” the urban area on the sea side of the SS16 trunk road.

If you are between the SS16 and the Adriatic, inside the built-up area, you are in it; if you are on the inland side, you are not.

That makes this one of the two easiest zones in the Emilia-Romagna antismog family to place yourself in without a map. 🚨 The other is Riccione, immediately to the south, whose order uses the identical sentence β€” and the two are not otherwise alike, so the shared boundary formula is a coast-specific drafting pattern rather than anything that can be read across to the rest of the family.

The SS16 itself is excluded, and so are four named stretches of the boundary roads and some two dozen named access routes to the park-and-ride sites and to the hospital, so a banned car can still reach a car park and leave again.

Sundays are stricter than weekdays: every Sunday of the season is an ecological Sunday except two β€” 4 October and 1 November 2026 β€” and on those twenty-four Sundays the diesel line moves one class further and catches Euro 5 as well. Nothing is on sale.

There is no day ticket, no charge and no payable derogation; a banned car does not become admissible by paying. ⚠️ Two switches can make the clock later than the one above. If a monitoring station in the municipality records twenty-five daily PM10 exceedances during calendar year 2026, an extra hour is added automatically and the window becomes 08:30 to 19:30.

Separately, when Arpae's bulletin triggers the regional emergency measures for the province of Rimini, the ban runs 08:00 to 19:00 on any day of the week and reaches diesel Euro 5. πŸ”‘ The order is unusually frank about the air it is regulating: it records that in 2025 the traffic monitoring station in viale Flaminia exceeded the PM10 daily limit sixteen times against a legal ceiling of thirty-five, and that NO2 stayed inside its annual limit.

Electric and hybrid vehicles, cars carrying at least three people, and guests driving to and from hotel-type accommodation inside the zone are outside the ban. The ban is on circulation β€” the order says "circolazione stradale dinamica privata" β€” so it is driving, not parking, that is caught.

Comune di Rimini β€” Ordinanza del Sindaco, Protocollo N. 0349809/2026 del 23/09/2026, signed by Sindaco Jamil Sadegholvaad and published by Arpae Emilia-Romagna, the regional agency that collects the implementing ordinances of every municipality bound by the PAIR 2030

Daily charge

Nothing is charged and nothing is on sale. The order bans the listed classes from circulating and then lists the vehicles, roads and journeys that are excluded; there is no day ticket, no registration fee and no payable derogation a visitor could buy.

The one route by which a banned vehicle can be authorised is Move-In, the regional telematics scheme: point 1.e excludes from the ban vehicles that have joined it, which fits a black box and allows a monitored annual mileage allowance instead of a flat prohibition, on the terms of Annexes A, B and C to regional decision DGR n. 1493 of 22/09/2025. Rimini runs Move-In under a separate standing mayoral order, prot. n.

0339372/2025 of 29/09/2025, effective from 01/10/2025 to 30/09/2028, and the preamble to this order states the limit of that exemption in the same breath as the grant: Move-In does not permit circulation "durante le domeniche ecologiche" or while the emergency measures are running, so the black box does nothing on any of the twenty-four ecological Sundays and nothing on an emergency day.

Move-In is in any case a scheme for vehicles registered in the participating regions rather than something a foreign visitor can buy on arrival. Neither the order nor the regional decision states a price in the documents read here, so none is given.

When it operates

Seasonal, and the season had just opened when this was read. The ban runs from 1 October 2026 to 31 March 2027.

Monday to Friday the window is 08:30 to 18:30 β€” "Dal LunedΓ¬ al VenerdΓ¬ dalle ore 08.30 alle ore 18.30". 🚨 Sundays are not an exception list of dates but a rule with two holes in it: point 1.b bans the same traffic "tutte le domeniche (Domeniche Ecologiche) dal 1 ottobre 2026 al 31 Marzo 2027 a eccezione di domenica 04 ottobre 2026 e domenica 01 novembre 2026", in the hours set by point 1.a.

The season holds twenty-six Sundays; two are named as excepted, so twenty-four are ecological Sundays. πŸ”‘ Which two are excepted is worth a visitor's attention, because neither is the obvious one: the first Sunday of the season is let through, and so is All Saints' Day, while every Sunday in December and the first Sunday of January are kept.

The PAIR 2030 would have allowed Rimini to drop those five β€” the order's own preamble cites article 12 paragraph 2 of its Technical Implementation Rules, "4 domeniche al mese, con possibilitΓ  di sospensione dal 1Β° dicembre al 6 gennaio e nei giorni di festivitΓ " β€” and Rimini does not use that power for December at all.

Saturday carries no ordinary ban: the order never names Saturday in its circulation article. ⚠️ The weekday and Sunday clock is not fixed for the season.

Point 1.a carries its own escape β€” "tranne nel caso di applicazione delle disposizioni di cui al punto 2 in cui la fascia oraria Γ¨ estesa fino alle 19.30" β€” and point 2 switches itself on automatically if a monitoring station anywhere in the municipality records twenty-five daily PM10 exceedances during calendar year 2026, adding one hour at the end and making the window 08:30 to 19:30 for weekdays and ecological Sundays alike.

Whether that has happened is not knowable from this document: the order records sixteen exceedances at the viale Flaminia traffic station during 2025, which is well short of twenty-five, but 2026 is the year that counts and the order was signed in September. 🚨 This is the same PAIR article 17 mechanism the Modena order carries, and the two municipalities do not implement it the same way: Modena widens to 08:00–19:00, Rimini to 08:30–19:30.

The whole of point 1 is lifted on four named days β€” 8 and 25 December 2026, 1 and 6 January 2027 β€” and on any day when local public transport is on strike. Separately from all of this, the region's emergency measures can be triggered on any day of the week: they run 08:00 to 19:00, reach diesel Euro 5, start the day after a control day and last until the next control day inclusive.

Arpae issues that bulletin on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, and it is triggered for the whole province of Rimini, not only the city.

N. 0349809/2026 del 23/09/2026, points 1.a, 1.b, 1.d, 2 and 3, with the preamble's citation of article 12 paragraph 2 of the PAIR 2030 Norme Tecniche di Attuazione for the December power the order declines to use, and the "Verificato" article for the 2025 exceedance count

Area covered

πŸ”‘ The zone is the urban area of Rimini on the sea side of the SS16, and the order says exactly that and nothing more: "L'Area Urbana del Comune di Rimini in cui si applicano le limitazioni della circolazione, di cui al presente atto, Γ¨ individuata nella Planimetria allegata al presente atto ed Γ¨ delimitata come segue: Zona urbana a mare della Strada Statale 16." One trunk road and the Adriatic are the whole boundary.

The SS16 runs the length of the municipality roughly parallel to the coast, so the restricted area is the coastal strip β€” the historic centre, the Marina Centro seafront, the station quarter and the beach districts from Torre Pedrera in the north to Miramare in the south β€” and everything inland of the SS16, including the hills, is outside it. ⚠️ The strip is long: the plan shows it running the full width of the municipality, from the Bellaria-Igea Marina boundary to the Riccione boundary, which is around fifteen kilometres of coast.

The SS16 itself is excluded from the ban, and so are four stretches of the roads that close the zone at its ends: Viale Principe di Piemonte from the Riccione boundary to the roundabout with Via Cavalieri di Vittorio Veneto, Via Cavalieri di Vittorio Veneto, Via San Salvador from the Bellaria-Igea Marina boundary to the junction with Via Tolemaide, and Via Tolemaide.

Inside the strip, the order excludes some two dozen named access and exit routes so that a banned vehicle can still reach a park-and-ride or a hospital: Viale Losanna, Viale Parigi, Via Ambrosoli, Via Giordani, Via Melucci, Via Marradi, Viale Settembrini, Via Flaminia from the SS16 to the roundabout with Viale Settembrini, Via Giuliani with Via Fada and Via Lagomaggio for the return, Via Ugo Bassi, Via Roma, Largo Martiri d'Ungheria, Via Dei Mille, Viale Matteotti, Via XIII Settembre, Via Popilia and Via Emilia; and then named in-and-out routes for the car parks at Piazzale Caduti di Cefalonia, Via Euterpe at the Centro Ausa, Viale Valturio, Italo Flori, the Parco Don Tonino Bello, Piazzale Cesare Zavattini, Via Flaminia Conca by the courthouse, the hospital, the Palacongressi, the ex lavatoio at Torre Pedrera and Viale Marconi at Miramare β€” each written as a specific sequence of roads from the SS16 and back, not as a general permission to drive to the car park by any route. 🚨 Reading the route as written matters: "l'accesso e l'uscita dal parcheggio Italo Flori fino alla SS.16 (percorso di accesso/uscita: SS.16 – Via Marecchiese – Viale Valturio – Via Circonvallazione Occidentale – Via Fracassi)" exempts that chain of streets and not a shorter way to the same car park.

The perimeter cannot be reproduced here as geometry, which is recorded under boundary_coverage, but unlike the vector plans attached to the Piacenza and Modena orders this one does not need to be: the boundary is a named trunk road and a coastline, and a driver can tell which side of it they are on. ⚠️ One thing the two coastal orders do NOT agree on is the road they share.

Rimini excludes "Viale Principe di Piemonte dal confine con Riccione"; Riccione, on the other side of the same boundary, excludes "viale Felice Pullè dal confine con Rimini". Whether those are two names for one carriageway is not stated by either act and is not asserted here — what a driver crossing between the two towns can rely on is that each order has excluded its own side.

Comune di Rimini β€” Ordinanza Prot. N. 0349809/2026 del 23/09/2026, point 1.c, with the annexed Planimetria (Allegato N.3) for the extent of the strip

Why there is no map here
πŸ”‘ This is the best-made map the Emilia-Romagna antismog family has produced, and it is still not a source geometry can be taken from β€” which is why it is recorded here rather than quietly used. It was rendered and looked at on 2026-10-01 (D-339). It is page 15 of the order itself, labelled "Allegato N.3 : Limitazioni circolazione dinamica planimetria", a landscape sheet of 2384 Γ— 1684 points carrying four raster tiles that together form one image 2383 px wide, drawn by the Comune's own GIS office β€” the title block reads "Comune di Rimini / U.O. SIT - Toponomastica". Unlike the Carpi, San Lazzaro, Bagnara and Conselice annexes it answers every question a legend should: three entries, all three used on the sheet β€” "Area soggetta a limitazione" for the pink fill, "ViabilitΓ  esclusa da limitazione della circolazione" for the green lines, and "Parcheggi raggiungibili" for the blue P markers, which are placed at the car parks the order names in point 1.c. There is a north arrow. The pink area confirms the text exactly: one continuous coastal strip on the sea side of the SS16, running the full width of the municipality from the Bellaria-Igea Marina boundary to the Riccione boundary. 🚨 What it does not carry is what georeferencing needs. There is no scale bar, no grid, no coordinate pair and no statement of a coordinate reference system anywhere on the sheet. The basemap is OpenStreetMap β€” the sheet credits "Β© OpenStreetMap (and) contributors, CC-BY-SA" in its lower right corner, read at 220 dpi β€” so the drawing was certainly made over a projected backdrop, but the projection is nowhere stated and the raster carries no registration marks. Fitting it by eye against OSM would be this project's own construction of a legal boundary, offered while a visitor decides whether their car is committing an offence, and that is the half-answer the corpus refuses to publish. ⚠️ The practical consequence here is milder than on any other record in this family, and it should be said rather than left implied: the order states its boundary in words that need no drawing at all β€” the urban area on the sea side of the SS16 β€” so a driver who cannot use this file loses the detail of the excluded access routes, not the ability to tell whether they are in the zone. Rimini is warned from its city anchor instead.

The authority's own map: Comune di Rimini β€” U.O. SIT, Toponomastica

Petrol standard

Petrol cars of Euro 0, Euro 1 and Euro 2 are banned β€” "Veicoli alimentati a benzina Euro 0, Euro 1 ed Euro 2, non conformi alla direttiva 98/69/A CE e successive o alla direttiva 99/96/A CE e successive" β€” so a petrol car needs to be Euro 3 or better. Bi-fuel vehicles running on methane/petrol or LPG/petrol are treated identically and banned up to and including Euro 2.

Mopeds are banned up to and including Euro 2 where they do not comply with Directive 2013/60/EC or later, and motorcycles up to and including Euro 2 where they do not comply with Directive 2003/77/EC or later.

None of these four lines moves anywhere in the scheme: petrol, bi-fuel, mopeds and motorcycles are caught at Euro 2 on weekdays, on the twenty-four ecological Sundays and while the emergency measures are running alike. It is only the diesel line that moves.

Comune di Rimini β€” Ordinanza Prot. N. 0349809/2026 del 23/09/2026, points 1.a and 1.b for the weekday and ecological-Sunday lists and point 3.a for the emergency list

Diesel standard

Diesel cars are banned up to and including Euro 4 from Monday to Friday β€” "veicoli diesel Euro 0, Euro 1, Euro 2, Euro 3 ed Euro 4, non conformi alla direttiva 2005/55/CE B2 e successive o alla direttiva 99/96 fase III oppure Riga B2 o C e successive" β€” so a diesel needs to be Euro 5 or better on a weekday. 🚨 On each of the twenty-four ecological Sundays the line moves one class further and Euro 5 is banned as well: "veicoli diesel Euro 0, Euro 1, Euro 2, Euro 3, Euro 4 ed Euro 5 non conformi al regolamento 715/2007*692/2008 (Euro 6 A o Euro 6 B)".

The same Euro 5 extension applies whenever the region's emergency measures are running, on any day of the week. A Euro 5 diesel is therefore legal here on a Tuesday and illegal on the Sunday after it, and only a Euro 6 diesel is clear of every list. 🚨 And there is a second trap here that has nothing to do with the order itself.

National law had already set a deadline for Euro 5 diesel: the preamble cites Legge n. 105 of 18 July 2025, converting Decreto-Legge n. 73 of 21 May 2025, which requires air-quality plans to carry a structural limitation on Euro 5 diesel "a decorrere dal 1Β° ottobre 2026, in via prioritaria per i Comuni aventi popolazione maggiore di 100.000 abitanti".

Rimini is well inside that band β€” the same order records a resident population of 150,272 at 31/12/2025 β€” and Emilia-Romagna legislated the limitation into force itself, at L.R. n.

9 of 28/07/2026 article 15 paragraph 1, for 1 October to 31 March each year, cars and N1/N2/N3 commercial vehicles, "dalle ore 8.30 alle ore 18.30, dal lunedΓ¬ al venerdΓ¬", which is the exact weekday window this scheme uses. πŸ”‘ It is not in force, and the reason is in the same preamble. Article 15 paragraph 7 of that regional law lets the Giunta substitute compensating measures, and DGR n.

1505 of 07/09/2026 did so "al fine di prescindere dall'attuazione della limitazione strutturale dei veicoli diesel euro 5" in Emilia-Romagna municipalities over 100,000 inhabitants, in exchange for three things: the heating season starting on 1 November, a biomass-heater ban during emergency measures, and widening the emergency circulation window to 08:00–19:00.

So a Euro 5 diesel driver who reads the national headline and concludes they are banned in Rimini on weekdays from 1 October 2026 has it backwards β€” and the 08:00–19:00 emergency window they will meet instead is part of the price the region paid for that.

Penalty if you do not comply
€168.00 The order sets a range, not a fixed sum, and it states it on its own face rather than leaving it to be looked up: "ai sensi dell'art. 7 comma 13 bis del vigente Codice della Strada la violazione delle limitazioni alla circolazione previste dalla presente Ordinanza Γ¨ soggetta alla sanzione amministrativa pecuniaria da € 168,00 a € 679,00", subject to the periodic uprating article 195 of the Highway Code provides for. The figure recorded above is the floor of that range; the ceiling is €679. 🚨 A second consequence follows a repeat: where the violation is repeated within two years, the order adds "la sanzione amministrativa accessoria della sospensione della patente di guida da quindici a trenta giorni" β€” a driving-licence suspension of fifteen to thirty days. The order's other measures carry their own separate penalties and they are not the same figure: breaching the emergency biomass rule or the open-burning and vegetation-burning rules at points 3.c, 4.b, 4.c and 4.d costs €300 to €3,000 under article 10 paragraph 4 of D.L. 69/2023; leaving a shop door open at point 6.b costs the shopkeeper not less than €50 and not more than €500 under article 42 of L.R. 16/2017; and the domestic biomass, heating-temperature and pellet duties at points 4.a, 5, 6.a and 6.b are punished under article 7-bis of D.Lgs. 267/2000 with an order to stop the activity at once. ⚠️ Enforcement is not nominal and the order says who does it: road police under article 12 of the Highway Code, judicial police officers, the Carabinieri Forestali and the regional volunteer environmental wardens, and the PAIR 2030 Technical Implementation Rules quoted in the preamble set a floor of "Comuni >100.000 abitanti: 1200 controlli/anno" β€” twelve hundred checks a year for a municipality of Rimini's size. The order also requires any exemption badge or certificate to be displayed visibly and produced on request, and provides that misusing one β€” a vehicle driven by someone other than the person named on the document, or driven outside the hours the document allows β€” brings withdrawal of the document as well as the Highway Code fine. There is no defence of ignorance, but there is one of necessity: the order excludes liability for a driver who acted under the necessity of saving themselves or another from an imminent danger of serious personal harm that they did not cause and could not otherwise avoid.Source: Comune di Rimini, read 2026-10-01

Comune di Rimini β€” Ordinanza Prot. N. 0349809/2026 del 23/09/2026, the RENDE NOTO CHE article for the sanctions and the DISPONE article for the enforcing bodies, with article 12 paragraph 7 of the PAIR 2030 Norme Tecniche di Attuazione as quoted in the same order's preamble for the minimum number of checks

How to comply
  • Work out which side of the SS16 you are on, because that is the whole boundary. The zone is "Zona urbana a mare della Strada Statale 16" β€” the urban area on the sea side of the SS16. The seafront, Marina Centro, the historic centre, the station quarter and the beach districts from Torre Pedrera to Miramare are inside it. Anything inland of the SS16 is outside it, and the SS16 itself is excluded from the ban.
  • Check the date. The scheme is dormant from 1 April to 30 September and bites from 1 October 2026 to 31 March 2027. Monday to Friday it runs 08:30–18:30. Saturday carries no ordinary ban.
  • 🚨 Sundays are stricter, and nearly every Sunday is one. Every Sunday of the season is an ecological Sunday except 4 October and 1 November 2026 β€” twenty-four of the twenty-six. December is not exempt here, so do not reason from Piacenza, which has no ecological Sunday in December at all.
  • Work out your Euro class, because that is the only thing that decides your case. Banned on weekdays: petrol, methane/petrol and LPG/petrol up to Euro 2; diesel up to Euro 4; mopeds and motorcycles up to Euro 2. There is no ticket, no permit and no payment that changes it.
  • 🚨 If your diesel is Euro 5, you are legal Monday to Friday and banned on all twenty-four ecological Sundays, and on any day the emergency measures are running. If you have read that Italy bans Euro 5 diesel in cities over 100,000 people from 1 October 2026, that national limitation is not applied in Emilia-Romagna: the region substituted compensating measures by DGR 1505 of 07/09/2026, and one of those measures is why the emergency window is 08:00–19:00.
  • ⚠️ Do not treat 18:30 as settled for the season. Point 2 adds an hour automatically β€” making it 08:30–19:30, weekdays and ecological Sundays alike β€” if a station in the municipality records twenty-five daily PM10 exceedances during calendar year 2026. The order gives last year's figure for comparison: sixteen exceedances at the viale Flaminia station in 2025, against a legal ceiling of thirty-five. Whether 2026 has crossed twenty-five is not in this document, so check the signs and the Comune before relying on the earlier finish.
  • Watch the emergency bulletin if you are driving an older car in a cold spell, and watch it for the whole province, not the city. Arpae publishes it on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays; a forecast PM10 exceedance switches the measures on from the next day until the following control day inclusive, at 08:00–19:00, reaching diesel Euro 5.
  • If your car is banned and you only need to park, use the named routes. The order excludes about two dozen access and exit routes to the park-and-ride sites and the hospital, among them Viale Settembrini, Via Roma, Viale Matteotti, Via Dei Mille, Via Popilia and Via Emilia, plus specific in-and-out chains for the car parks at Piazzale Caduti di Cefalonia, Via Euterpe, Viale Valturio, Italo Flori, Parco Don Tonino Bello, Piazzale Zavattini, Via Flaminia Conca, the hospital, the Palacongressi, Torre Pedrera and Miramare. ⚠️ Each is written as a named sequence of streets from the SS16 and back; leaving that sequence puts you back in the zone.
  • Arriving from Riccione or from Bellaria-Igea Marina? The order excludes the boundary stretches themselves: Viale Principe di Piemonte from the Riccione boundary to the roundabout with Via Cavalieri di Vittorio Veneto, Via Cavalieri di Vittorio Veneto, Via San Salvador from the Bellaria-Igea Marina boundary to Via Tolemaide, and Via Tolemaide.
  • Staying in the zone? A vehicle serving someone lodged at hotel-type accommodation inside the restricted area is exempt for the journey to and from the accommodation itself, on a booking, provided the property is inside the Comune. For a seaside city where most of the hotels are inside the strip, this is the exemption most visitors will actually use.
  • Electric and hybrid vehicles are never caught, and neither are cars carrying at least three people where the vehicle is approved for four or more seats β€” two people where it is approved for two or three. Vehicles registered for specific transport or special uses are outside the ban as well.
  • A disabled person's parking badge issued under D.P.R. 151/2012 exempts the vehicle serving them, and so do journeys carrying someone to urgent or scheduled medical treatment, home-care patients and their carers, and blood donors on the day of donation. Emergency, rescue, breakdown-recovery, public-security, environmental-control and utility-maintenance vehicles are exempt, as are buses and school buses, doctors and vets on urgent home visits with their professional badge, vehicles carrying perishable goods or medicines, vehicles going to a booked roadworthiness test, market and fair traders, postal vehicles under the universal service, trade-plate vehicles, and lorries over 3.5 tonnes limited to the run between their operator's base and the excluded road network.
  • Historic vehicles get less than you might expect: registration in ASI, Storico Lancia, Italiano Fiat, Italiano Alfa Romeo or Storico FMI exempts the vehicle only "limitatamente alle manifestazioni organizzate" β€” for organised events, not for ordinary driving.
  • Whatever exemption you rely on, display the badge visibly and be ready to produce the certificate. Misusing one costs you the document as well as the fine, which is €168 to €679, with a fifteen- to thirty-day licence suspension if you are caught again within two years.
  • Four named days lift the ban outright β€” 8 and 25 December 2026, 1 and 6 January 2027 β€” and so does any day on which local public transport is on strike. ⚠️ 26 December is not on that list; it falls on a Saturday, which carries no ban in any case.
  • This is the antismog ban and nothing else. It is a limit on circulation β€” "circolazione stradale dinamica privata" β€” so it governs driving rather than parking, and Rimini's other access and parking schemes operate under their own separate orders.
