What it means for your car

Petrol or LPG. No restriction. Petrol and LPG cars and vans, and electric ones, may enter every Dutch milieuzone whatever their age.
Diesel. Diesel cars need emission class 5 or higher. Classes 0, 1, 2, 3 and 4 are not allowed in. This is the "blue" milieuzone standard, shared with Amsterdam.

• Milieuzone Utrecht Low emission zone

  Utrecht operates a "blue" milieuzone, and it only restricts diesel. A diesel car needs emission class 5 or higher to enter; classes 0 to 4 are banned. Petrol, LPG and electric cars may enter whatever their age. The zone applies to cars only — vans and lorries are governed by Utrecht's separate zero-emission zone instead.
