Driving in Dundee

United Kingdom: 1 scheme to know about before you drive in.

The short answer for Dundee

Dundee has one driving restriction on our books: the Dundee Low Emission Zone Scheme. What is a low emission zone?

What it means for your car

Petrol or LPG. Euro 4 or better for petrol cars and vans — generally vehicles registered from 2006 onwards. The standard is national, set by regulation 2 of the Low Emission Zones (Emission Standards, Exemptions and Enforcement) (Scotland) Regulations 2021, not by the council.
Diesel. Euro 6 or better for diesel cars and vans — generally vehicles registered from September 2015 onwards. Buses, coaches and HGVs need Euro VI, generally from January 2013 onwards. The standard is national, set by regulation 2 of the Low Emission Zones (Emission Standards, Exemptions and Enforcement) (Scotland) Regulations 2021.
